Tuesday Bulletin
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
Yesterday the citizens who still love America celebrated Independence Day. It is certainly good to celebrate Independence while we still have it. However, some time in the weekend should’ve been set aside to truly consider the consequences of losing our precious freedoms as America is on a trajectory to eviscerate our hard-won Liberty as a free people. And, sadly, it is because we are completely free to do nothing. And, a long, long time ago, a great sage once said that all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
The real problem in America today is not a pandemic, or the government, or the enemies of our government – both foreign and domestic. The real problem is discovered by taking a look in the mirror. Americans have been buffeted by fear fortified through ignorance, and we have forgotten that bold and brave individuals at one point in human history decided that they had enough of the tyranny that deprived them of basic rights as citizens. We have forgotten they were just men and women who decided to risk it all for a better world. We have come full circle as a nation to this crossroads once again. It is we who must decide what we are going to do about tyranny as it is eating away at the fabric of our ideals as a free people. We must decide if we arise in unity, or just sit quietly and watch because it may be too embarrassing, too much of a risk, or just too dangerous to get involved.
While it may be considered prudent to not appear too irrational, or become overly vocal, the root of the problem is whether or not we as Americans care enough about the future of our children or the future of the Freedom itself to arise and to look around for ways to take action. Today’s article is from Jim Bratten, of the Hoosier Patriots. Yet, it is really from President Ronald Reagan from a speech he gave about the deeper meaning of Independence Day. Consider carefully. Sadly, many Americans have forgotten that this government is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Those who had not, have now been arrested or put in prison by our own government. The patriots who love the nation and Freedom itself are political prisoners and evil sees how easy it will be to keep on generating ignorance and fomenting fear. Fear and ignorance have been the two handmaidens of tyranny for thousands of years. Will such a fate consume America because of our ignorance (accidental or willful) or because of our fears?
Americans need to be able to embrace the truth; for those who are unafraid of acting upon the truth, it will set them free. Long live our people’s quest for Freedom!

Reagan’s Perspective
Understanding the Great Truth of America on Independence Day
By Jim Bratten
7/4/22
On July 4, 1981 President Ronald Reagan delivered the following speech to our nation,
reminding us of the Founders who put their names to the document, the Declaration of
Independence, and what they risked and sacrificed in declaring their liberty, creating the most unique country on earth, founded on the unalienable God-given rights of the individual.
As the Founders, Ronald Reagan understood the cost of preserving and protecting our liberty… and the “great truth” of America:
For one who was born and grew up in the small towns of the Midwest, there is a special kind of nostalgia about the Fourth of July.
Somewhere in our youth, we began to be aware of the meaning of important national days and with that awareness came the birth of patriotism. July Fourth is the birthday of our nation. I believed as a boy, and believe even more today,
that it is the birthday of the greatest nation on earth.
The day of our nation’s birth in that little hall in Philadelphia, was a day on
which debate had raged for hours. The men gathered there were honorable
men hard-pressed by a king who had flouted the very laws they were willing
to obey. Even so, to sign the Declaration of Independence was such an
irretrievable act that the walls resounded with the words “treason, the gallows,
the headsman’s axe,” and the issue remained in doubt.
On that day 56 men, a little band so unique we have never seen their like since,
had pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. Some gave their lives in the war that followed, most gave their fortunes, and all preserved their sacred honor.
What manner of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists, eleven were merchants and tradesmen, and nine were farmers. They were soft-spoken men of means and education; they were not an unwashed rabble. They had achieved security but valued freedom more. Their stories have not been told nearly enough.
John Hart was driven from the side of his desperately ill wife. For more than a year he lived in the forest and in caves before he returned to find his wife dead, his children vanished, his property destroyed. He died of exhaustion and a broken heart.
Carter Braxton of Virginia lost all his ships, sold his home to pay his debts, and died in rags. And so it was with Ellery, Clymer, Hall, Walton, Gwinnett, Rutledge, Morris, Livingston and Middleton. Nelson personally urged Washington to fire on his home and destroy it when it became the headquarters for General Cornwallis. Nelson died bankrupt.
But they sired a nation that grew from sea to shining sea. Five million farms, quiet villages, cities that never sleep, three million square miles of forest, field, mountain and desert, 227 million people with a pedigree that includes the bloodlines of all the world. In recent years, however, I've come to think of that day as more than just the birthday of a nation. It also commemorates the only true philosophical revolution in all history.
Oh, there have been revolutions before and since ours. But those revolutions simply exchanged one set of rules for another. Ours was a revolution that changed the very concept of government.
Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people.
We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should.

We continue to urge citizens to take ownership of the responsibility to keep the Republic!
Remember, an educated and enlightened citizenry is vital for our future. As it has been written:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
The Citizens Voice provides information that the mainstream media hopes people don’t receive. Forward these newsletters to your friends and let them witness, first hand, that there is more than one side to a story. Then they will begin to understand the peril that our nation is in and be able to make informed decisions.
We are truly thankful for all of our readers who have chosen to assist our efforts in bringing the information and words of encouragement to all Americans we can possibly reach. We are truly grateful for the generous donations from our fellow Citizen Sentinels. It helps us keep going as a truly volunteer effort. Thank you so very much for whatever can be given.
"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." ~ Samuel Adams, 1776
Ownership of our Republic is now the fight of our time! Keeping our Republic depends upon the genuine sense of ownership of the Land of the Free. Either this is our country, or it will belong to those who are actively seeking to take it from us. It is the same mentality that inspired someone long ago to express the sentiment that “All it takes for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing.” Efforts to take responsibility for keeping this nation a free Republic are organically occurring right now all across the nation.
