CSN - Citizen Voice Bulletin - 2/7/2023
Tuesday Bulletin
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
Amidst the turbulence of the world, the two bigger news stories this past week were focused on the CCP spy balloon floating all across the territory of the United States and the real devastating earthquakes that hit Syria and Turkey. However, our two featured articles are looking at Ronald Reagan and a slice of Black history since February is Black History month. We do offer quite a number of links to articles on the Middle East earthquakes and the CCP balloon, that has safely been shot down. However, it seems clear that the CCP is now probing the will of Biden’s federal government.
The two feature articles today are from Jim Bratten who actually posted his article, “Reagan’s Weapon” last year, but the relevance contained within it still exists. The second article is one in which I posted in 2014 to shed light on Rosa Parks because there is still much ignorance about the Civil Rights movement to this day. The conclusion has been updated based on more current developments since 2014, but much has happened since that time.
Our first article had been posted in the Citizen Voice last February. The article offered this year once again in honor of Ronald Reagan’s birthday on February 6.
The second article is one I wrote in 2014 to help my readers at that time understand the history of the remembrance of Black History month. Many people only understand a limited amount on Rosa Parks and the entire effort of the NAACP in laying the foundation for the larger Civil Rights Movement.
So, this edition has a bit of history injected into it for the sake of our readers understanding a bit
better these two significant perspectives of the past. Again, we earnestly hope our readers understand that the Citizen Sentinels Network agenda is to help educate as many citizens as possible through the Citizen Voice. We also hope to empower those who have been awakened to take action to retain and restore our Republic. If the news or views of our writers are worthy of others’ attention, please share today’s Citizens Voice with those who may need enlightenment. And, in light of all our aggregates and entries today, it is also our hope that readers would please take to heart what they read through this edition.
As a reminder, in January, as a way to fill in the void left by forced abandonment of the Thursday Citizen Voice edition due to the attack on our Citizen Sentinels Network website, a newsletter was initiated for the Coalition for a Principled Republic. The initial edition was sent to many of our Citizen Voice readers, but this newsletter is for an organization that was founded in 2019. The CPR newsletter is more of an educational effort to shine the light on activities and activism of the CPR groups who are doing what needs to be done to keep the Republic. The basic focus is activism rooted in principles that were cherished by the founding generation as well as those successive generations of Americans.
Please note that this CPR newsletter will be sent once a month initially and will be sent to our Citizen Voice readers automatically. However, if it is not appreciated, please let us know and we will remove your email address from the distribution list.
As always, if the perspectives or views of our writers are worthy of others’ attention, please share today’s Citizens Voice with those who may need enlightenment. And, in light of all our aggregates and entries today, it is also our hope that readers would please take to heart what they read through this edition.
Finally, as mentioned in previous editions, the Sunday Citizen Voice edition of LightWing Messages has entered into the Zoom realm. Initial Zoom calls were held in the last weeks of 2022 and met our expectations, so we are going forward with this project in 2023. If readers are interested in this week’s call and would like to receive the Zoom link, please send an email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com
We’ll have a discussion about the message offered on Sunday regarding my rebirth via the unusual meeting with the Holy Spirit. If readers are not interested in how I was reborn, I do not insist upon your support on the Zoom call, so it may not be important to tune in; however, if anyone desires to discuss in general the rebirth experience – or share their rebirth experience, readers may want to tune in. Many readers are already registered and on the list to get the weekly Zoom link. If other readers are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call, please send an email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com

Reagan's Weapon
By Jim Bratten – 2/7/22
President Ronald Reagan’s Conservative principles – the principles most Americans embrace – are under intense assault. Progressives are determined to erase Reagan’s legacy from our history books and stifle those principles in the public square; “cancel” them from the “culture.” This historical revisionism and censorship is unprecedented.
Students aren’t taught Reagan’s “Peace Through Strength” philosophy and how he incorporated it in his foreign policy to bring down the Soviet Union. They aren’t taught that Reagan’s free market principles unleashed the greatest period of economic prosperity since the end of World War II. Many of them cannot even place WWII on an historical timeline or locate the participant countries geographically and name them. In the classroom and on campus today they hear only ridicule and contempt for Reagan’s principles – the same principles that undergird our American society – and hatred for America.
Instead of extolling the virtues that have made America the beacon of opportunity and prosperity to the world, progressives in the U.S. are promoting Socialism and Fascism – historical failures responsible for untold human misery and the loss of over 100 million lives in the 20th century. Educators are indoctrinating the current generation, as they did the last, to embrace the same economic system and radical ideology Ronald Reagan defeated, freeing millions enslaved under Communism.
President Reagan shared an unshakable truth about our principles in his first Inaugural Address:
“Above all, we must realize that no arsenal or weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.”
We must use this weapon, our will and moral courage as Americans, to oppose those Marxist Democrats who would transform America.
Our young must learn about this weapon and why it is essential for a free people to defend their nation. But they aren’t taught what “will” or “moral courage” are, let alone what morals are or even morality. They are fed Marxist tripe such as Critical Race Theory and white supremacy so they can participate in the division of the country and told their parents are ignorant bigots who don’t deserve their respect.
As Reagan said in his farewell speech:
“We’ve got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom – freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise.”
Every day that the principles and ideas of our founding are kept from the minds of our children, freedom is held hostage to tyranny. The will and moral courage of a free people will not survive. The one weapon that can vanquish our foes will be lost and freedom will vanish. And our children will be spiritually and mentally hollow: empty vessels filled with ignorance.
Fortunately, parents around the nation are awakening to the epiphany that our children don’t know our Founding Principles and those parents are standing up at school boards to object to the indoctrination and establish a curriculum of knowledge. The children are being fed nonsense that won’t improve or enrich their lives; superficial subjects that aren’t essential to their identity as Americans, will not foster a healthy culture, and won’t produce success in their life as adults; and will not ensure the survival of our nation. The “reboot” of education will have to be extensive. Consider that in 1942, 18–20-year-olds, fresh from the Depression, were dodging mortar fire in Europe and the Pacific. In 2022, they are looking for “safe spaces” on college campuses to dodge unwanted, unapproved, words.
In his famous “Time for Choosing” speech, Reagan warned: “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.”

Black History Month and Rosa Parks Day
By Dennis Jamison (original article posted 2/4/2014)
I originally wrote this article in 2014, but in honor of the increasing controversial issue of Black History Month, which is now bring weaponized, I offer major excerpts of the original article for the sake of education for those who do not know what they do not know.
“In 1915, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, considered by historians as the father of Black History, co-founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History… a year later, he began the publication of the Journal of Negro History which was renamed the Journal of African American History in 2002.”
Woodson spent “ten years of lobbying schools and various organizations to participate in his dream of promoting the awareness of African American history to the general public, he created Negro History Week. Over the years, his Negro History Week evolved into what is now Black History Month, celebrated each February since 1976.”
“While many Americans… are aware of Black History Month, many are unaware that February 4th, as well as December 1st of each year are celebrated officially in at least Ohio and California as days to honor Rosa Parks, referred to by the United States Congress as the ‘first lady of civil rights.’”
Editor’s Note: The rest of these paragraphs are from the original article
Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was born on February 4, 1913, only one year after Dr. Woodson completed his Ph.D. in history at Harvard University. While Dr. Woodson sought to help the American people become aware of African-American history, Rosa Parks made it when she was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1, 1955, forty years after Dr. Woodson initiated his educational association.
While many Americans believe that Rosa Parks was an elderly little Negro lady who had experienced enough of racially unjust treatment in her state of Alabama, and spontaneously refused to get out of a “Whites Only” designated seat, this is not an accurate perception. Rosa Parks was in her forties, and quite active in the NAACP, and at the time, she was serving as secretary of the Montgomery chapter. In 1955, Parks had completed a course in “Race Relations” at the Highlander Folk School in Tennessee (now known as The Highlander Research and Education Center), which was European-styled training center founded for political activists in 1934.
Rosa Parks had been employed as a seamstress in a local Montgomery department store, but through the training center, she had learned about non-violent civil disobedience as a tactic of peaceful political change. After work on December 1, 1955, she boarded a local bus, and was eventually prodded by the bus driver to surrender her seat in the front row of seats of the colored section to a white passenger who was unable to get a seat in the “Whites Only” area because it had been completely filled. While the other black passengers obeyed the bus driver’s order to vacate the entire row of seats (essentially normal procedure based on the actual practice of bus segregation) Rosa Parks resisted and she was arrested.
Contrary to popular belief, Rosa Parks was not the first black person to resist the unofficial Jim Crow practice of segregation of public buses. A little known incident that occurred in 1944 when a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army by the name of Jackie Robinson refused to move to the back of a local bus and ended up in a confrontation with an Army officer in Fort Hood, Texas. Future major league ball player Robinson was brought up on charges, and ultimately faced a military court-martial. Jackie Robinson was eventually acquitted. Then, after World War II, the NAACP started actively investigating and litigating such cases.
One such legal challenge as early as 1946, involved a woman named Irene Morgan, and it resulted in a victory in the U.S. Supreme Court that established the precedent that interstate commerce came under the Commerce Clause, and segregation on buses traveling from state to state was unconstitutional. However, even though this case was historic and overturned state segregation laws; such a law did not apply to travel on buses within state boundaries. Most southern states allowed the bus companies to simply bypass the federal Morgan ruling, and the companies followed their own Jim Crow practices of segregation on public buses, and left it to the individual bus drivers to enforce restrictions. During this time, several efforts were made to challenge such Jim Crow discrimination in various southern states.
Many historians recognize the very first civil rights boycott challenging the practice of segregation on public buses as the one organized by Rev. T. J. Jemison in 1953. The effort occurred in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after the city-parish council passed a law that abolished race based seating restrictions, which actually allowed African-Americans to sit in the front seats of Baton Rouge buses when there were no white passengers aboard. However, white bus drivers went on strike after Rev. Jemison had the audacity to sit in the front row of a bus, and city authorities refused to arrest the bold black minister. Bowing to the demands of the bus drivers, the Louisiana Attorney General ruled the city ordinance to be counter to Louisiana state law. So, on February 25, 1953, Rev. Jemison organized his own strike: a boycott of Baton Rouge buses.
A similar incident arose on March 2, 1955, when Claudette Colvin, a 15 year-old student at Booker T. Washington High School in Montgomery, Alabama, when she also would not give up her seat on a bus to a white man. She was handcuffed and arrested, and then forcibly taken off the public bus. Ms. Colvin was also a member of the NAACP, an active member of their Youth Council. In fact, Rosa Parks served as an advisor to this youth group as one of her responsibilities in the NAACP chapter in Montgomery. Many civil rights activists were attempting to use Colvin’s case to build a legal challenge to the bus segregation laws throughout the south, but he NAACP decided to not make her a focal point because she had become pregnant out of wedlock, and the image would have been poorly received by the public.
The president of the Montgomery chapter of the NAACP, Edgar Nixon, and other NAACP organizers believed that Rosa Parks provided a more solid case and a more acceptable character for the ensuing legal challenge to Alabama’s segregation laws after Parks had refused to comply with the driver’s seat demands, and was found guilty on December 5th and was fined $10.00 plus a court cost of $4.00, but she appealed. Unfortunately, her court case eventually stagnated in the state court system. Nevertheless, Rosa Parks’ act of defiance within the white-dominated society sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and she eventually became a symbol and an international icon of the Civil Rights Movement.
Editor’s Note: The final paragraph represents an updated conclusion
Although Rosa Parks passed away on October 24, 2005, the memory of her deeds lives on, at least for those who report history honestly. Recently, the Critical Race Theory with Marxist roots, spawned a number of secular progressive-revisionist historical perspectives. One that originated recently is the “1619 Project” sponsored by the New York Times and written by a journalist, not an historian. Objective history was a serious problem for Karl Marx, as he basically ignored facts and significant aspects of history as he jammed his square-pegged perspectives of historical materialism into round reality of historical fact. The narrative of the 1619 Project also overrides historical facts for the sake of an ideological interpretation of history.
Such efforts by the Times and those who are promoting CRT in the public schools are doing a disservice to the efforts of Dr. Woodson and the Civil Rights heroes such as Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks to name a few who struggled for their freedoms that had been limited and restricted by an equally dogmatic and ideologically fixated political system in the “Solid South.” Human history is usually messy, sometimes ugly, and raw truth is often candy-coated, or sometimes distorted. Those who seek to understand history today must navigate the frosting, the smoke screens, and the ideological propaganda to find the truth. But, for those diligent students, the truth will set them free to receive genuine understanding.

We continue to urge citizens to take ownership of the responsibility to keep the Republic!
Remember, an educated and enlightened citizenry is vital for our future. As it has been written:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
The Citizens Voice provides information that the mainstream media hopes people don’t receive. Forward these newsletters to your friends and let them witness, first hand, that there is more than one side to a story. Then they will begin to understand the peril that our nation is in and be able to make informed decisions.
We are truly thankful for all of our readers who have chosen to assist our efforts in bringing the information and words of encouragement to all Americans we can possibly reach. We are truly grateful for the generous donations from our fellow Citizen Sentinels. It helps us keep going as a truly volunteer effort. Thank you so very much for whatever can be given.
"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." ~ Samuel Adams, 1776
Ownership of our Republic is now the fight of our time! Keeping our Republic depends upon the genuine sense of ownership of the Land of the Free. Either this is our country, or it will belong to those who are actively seeking to take it from us. It is the same mentality that inspired someone long ago to express the sentiment that “All it takes for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing.” Efforts to take responsibility for keeping this nation a free Republic are organically occurring right now all across the nation.
