At the Citizen Voice, we try hard to help our readers keep pace with most of the most important trending news or views flowing through the airwaves – without directing readers to the various false flag distractions or distracting advertising and marketing nonsense. We have two articles today. The first article is from Jack Gleason who asks a very pertinent and pressing question: Is the “Sound of Freedom” the next “Shot Heard Round the World?” For all of you who have not seen this movie – you need to, as Gleason’s question is spot on regarding the freedom of our children. This quest to free entrapped and enslaved children has just begun. The movie, IMHO, is just the beginning of the fight for the freedom of God’s children.
I recently went into the mountains to take a break from the grind and to connect to the realms of the higher wisdom from Heaven, and I received some input on the “Sound of Freedom” movie. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But, if one can view the movie, it is the modern day saga of the quest to free God’s children. Hasn’t this been God’s quest to free His children that had been lost to Satan all through the course of human history? Has not the freeing of His children from Satan’s control been the impetus of His Providence across the span of time over the entire planet? Is this quest still not continuing in our time? The movie opens up a whole new perspective on what those who are called by God need to do in such a time as this.
Our second message is from A. Dru Kristenev and is entitled, “Federal overreach: What about Home Rule?.” which provides an surface level examination and exposure to the problems within our nation regarding governance on different levels. As always, Kristenev delves into a thought provoking reality facing common citizens – whether they want to do so much ‘work’ thinking or not. The issue gets into the original intent of the Founders and contains serious (though often neglected) implications for our nation in this time.
We also offer a brief aggregate section and we hope readers will follow through from the feature articles to those additional links with more information.
As always, if the perspectives or views of our writers are worthy of others’ attention, please share today’s Citizens Voice with those who may need enlightenment. And, in light of those aggregates and entries today, it is also our hope that readers would please take to heart what they read through this edition. Read, enjoy, absorb and share.

Is the “Sound of Freedom” the next “Shot Heard Round the World?”

Much is being said about the newly released movie “Sound of Freedom.” If you live under a rock, here’s the trailer, which has now been viewed over 4 million times.
“Sound of Freedom, based on the incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.”
Released on July 4th, the movie debuted in third place with revenue of about $20 million, and in its second week went to second place behind Mission Impossible with $27 million. The $100 million mark is well within reach.
USA Today says
"Sound of Freedom" has a 79% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 100% audience score. Audiences gave it an A+ on CinemaScore. In a largely positive review, Variety's Owen Gleiberman wrote, “Let’s assume that, like me, you’re not a right-wing fundamentalist conspiracy theorist looking for a dark, faith-based suspense film ... you needn’t hold extreme beliefs to experience ‘Sound of Freedom’ as a compelling movie that shines an authentic light on one of the crucial criminal horrors of our time, one that Hollywood has mostly shied away from.”
You can always tell when something terrifies the Left because the long knives come out – usually for a popular conservative candidate, but in this case, a movie.
Among the negative reviews, Rolling Stone’s Miles Klee labels the film as a "superhero movie for dads with brainworms," and The Guardian’s Charles Bramesco accuses it of being "QAnon-adjacent.” QAnon supposedly claims that the world is being run by pedophiles who use a chemical found in children’s blood as an anti-aging serum.
Bramesco fails to realize that the movie was filmed in 2018 before few had ever heard about QAnon.
The real-life Tim Ballard said that if the film had been released in 2018 it “would be applauded and written up by every news outlet as an important topic.”
He said our wide-open southern border is a major source of child-sex trafficking. “I spent 10 out of 12 years on the Southern border and to know what’s happening, you have to understand the economy of pedophilia,” he said. “The US is the number-one consumer of childhood rape videos in the world.”
The New York Post did a more balanced article on Ballard’s story and concludes, “Ballard notes the success of Sound of Freedom shows a silent majority is rising up and listening. ‘Hopefully – 7/28/23 will start enforcing the border. It’s the only compassionate thing to do if you care about children.’”
Americans across the country are 100% fed up with our current administration and their efforts to destroy and reshape our nation in a coordinated “death by 1,000 cuts.” This movie highlights the one issue that can unite us all – the safety and well-being of our children.
In 2021, Glenn Youngkin led such a coalition of concerned parents to surprise his well-funded challenger and win the race for governor of Virginia. The entire Virginia House and Senate turned Republican as well and significant gains were made down-ballot in local school board elections. In his acceptance speech Youngkin said ““Our kids can’t wait. We work in real-people time, not government time.” He promised new investments in education, school choice, and to “reestablish excellence in our schools.”
Across the country, a renewed mission to protect our children can unite parents horrified about Democrat efforts to use graphic materials to teach sex to first-graders, hold drag shows, and destroy girls’ sports with transgender athletes. The Left’s control of education is now seen as their plan to take over the minds of our children – against their parents’ wishes. And encouraging transgenderism in 10-year-olds and sex change surgery without notifying the parents is completely insane, especially when just a few years ago children were sent home from school for taking a single aspirin tablet without written permission.
These new revelations about the prevalence of child sex trafficking and other horrific abuses may be the final straw that will spur action across a wide range of issues.
We can demand changes from our local, state-wide and nationally elected officials and threaten to vote them out of office if they refuse to take action now.
The first step must be to stop the exploitation of children crossing the southern border. Whether the number is 152,000 or 340,000, it’s far too many. And there are no estimates of children taken before they get to the border. What happens to these innocents?
We must demand increased penalties for child trafficking and pedophilia and insist on rigorous prosecution.
But talk is cheap, action is priceless.
Get involved, turn on your phone’s video and track down your local, state and federal representatives and those seeking office. Ask them…
“Do you support closing the border?”
“Do you support increased penalties for child traffickers and pedophiles?”
Talk with your local sheriff and ask what he’s doing about child trafficking in your area.
Share your videos on YouTube, Rumble.com and your social media.
But the goal of electing new representatives begs the question – “if our votes aren’t counted accurately, how can we enforce our will?”
So the second side of this new revolution must be a demand for reforms that will return confidence to our election process.
Our current system is horribly compromised with fake mail-in ballots and zero signature verification.
We must move to paper ballots and voter-ID. Absentee ballots must abide by the same rules. Counting must be done by hand with impartial observers.
ERIC is a database system that is supposed to clean up voter rolls, but is actually a tool of the Left. It needs to be replaced by new systems that use the most advanced technology to clean voter rolls of people who have died or changed address, and who are listed as living in vacant lots or demolished apartment buildings.
Patrick Colbeck explains in detail the attack on honest elections. “We need to monitor elections as poll workers, poll challengers and poll watchers.” So contact your local Board of Elections and ask to volunteer. Then, keep your eyes open and share what you learn.
He lists organizations to follow, including Mike Lindell’s Election Crime Bureau, American Voters’ Alliance, Verity Vote, Fix 2020 First, and Election Integrity Network.
Get out your phones and ask…
“Do you support cleaning our voter rolls, voter-ID, paper ballots, and hand-counting?”
Our schools are the next battleground. Interview local school board officials and county commissioners and get them on the record…
“Will you remove all sex-based curricula, explicit books, and drag shows from elementary schools?”
“Will you protect girls’ sports from biological males who claim to be transgender?”
Don’t worry, if they run away from your questions, just keep videotaping. A good flee scene is often clearer than a wishy-washy offend-no-one statement.

Federal overreach: What about Home Rule?

Things are heating up, and, no, that’s not a reference to the three-digit temperature readings across the country this summer. It’s acknowledging the rising tempers of citizens being forced to endure regulation upon regulation coming down from the Biden administration restricting access
to everything from public lands to gas stoves, air conditioning and even light bulbs.
The looming question is what to do about it when Congress is dragging its feet despite the barrage of “investigations” and states refusing to step-in with their constitutional authority to “throw the bums out” – the bums being federal agencies.
In a limited sense, counties have attempted to institute a version of home rule that has taken the
form of decreeing “sanctuary” localities, be they municipalities or counties, and have come from two opposite creeds.
Application of home rule is determined by each state’s constitution
On the one side, local governments have declared themselves a sanctuary for illegal activity, most often protecting illegal aliens from being deported or charged with crimes that end up being applied only to legal citizens. On the other hand, counties have declared themselves protectorates for Second Amendment rights to bear arms.
The difference between the two is that local governments haven’t jurisdiction to absolve illegal entrants to the country (migrants, e.g. illegal aliens) of their federal crimes. Counties do, however, have the power to enforce constitutional rights in the face of federal attempts to undermine those rights, such as the First and Second Amendments which federal agencies pushed to deny in the face of Covid and the administration’s engineered collapse of the border.
It must be understood that the application of home rule is determined by each state’s constitution, whether it is supported by statute or inherent in the state or federal constitution itself.
Here are some basic concepts to be considered regarding home rule:
Counties and States may intervene for citizens when a foreign organization tries to exercise control within local jurisdiction. In fact, federal government is essentially a foreign organization in the confines of the sovereign state regarding Ninth and Tenth Amendments.
"States have Home Rule through the Federal Constitution. Essentially the 10th Amendment is "Home Rule" for State governments, and since it and the 9th Amendment set forth:
Amendment IX "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. And.…
Amendment X "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." (https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/bill-of-rights-transcript#toc-amendment-ix) Toddy Littman, legal researcher.
"Permit me to mention one great principle, the vital principle I may well call it, which diffuses animation and vigor through all the others. The principle I mean is this, that the supreme or sovereign power of the society resides in the citizens at large; and that, therefore, they always retain the right of abolishing, altering, or amending their constitution, at whatever time, and in whatever manner, they shall deem expedient." James Wilson, Founding Father, Lectures on Law: Volume 1 Chapter 1 page 17. Illinois defines home rule:
"The purpose of home rule is to allow for local solutions to local issues and problems. A municipality with home rule status can exercise any power and perform any function unless it is specifically prohibited from doing so by state law."
Home Rule--whether the Dillon Rule or statutorily or constitutionally addressed--or not at all
States have either adopted a method for implementation of home rule--whether the Dillon Rule or statutorily or constitutionally addressed--or not at all, leaving the interpretation up to what is inferred by the United States Constitution. This brief publication offers an overview and a map of where individual states stand on the issue, particularly regarding Nebraska:

the availability of implementation both statutorily or constitutionally. As of 2005, the date of this paper, 36 counties had adopted home rule charters.
In that case, what is holding back counties from taking action to shutdown not only federal encroachment on everyday lives of citizens but state meddling as well? It is the election of local officials--municipal and county--that are political creatures rather than actual representatives of the citizenry. In too many cases, ties to political party power brokers has more influence over candidates than serving the needs of local constituents.
The fault in electing city council members or county commissioners is directly related to campaign funding. It is much the reason there is a nationwide effort to retake Republican party control through electing precinct committee members who are dedicated to retaining (or re-instating, at this juncture in history) the constitutional republic the Founders established.
Biblically speaking, the root of all evil is the love of money, not money itself. What has been witnessed in the corruption of virtually every governing body within the country is the application of money to campaigns but also through federal programs.
In rural Oregon, where home rule has the greatest possibility of working to benefit locals, it was noted by a rancher who has studied home rule that as long as agriculture entrepreneurs are willing to continue receiving federal funding for equipment, drought insurance, non-production of crops, etc., nothing will change.

In his words, “Like Nancy Reagan, “Just Say No” to the feds. Are ranchers willing to halt the money train of subsidies--agricultural welfare--willing to get off at the next station? ...There’s no secret switch you have to flip,” you just have to do it. “It’s a money issue.”
“It’s a money issue” is worth repeating. Like everything else in modern American society, each aspect of life has been connected to federal dollars, whether it’s rural counties (where USFS retains more land than private owners) that receive PILT funding, or ag operations being pressured to federally finance things like “approved” sprinkler systems for crops, flood and, as mentioned above, drought insurance.
Federal agencies continue to expand requirements on natural resource operations to the point that mining, ranching, farming and timber industries are literally bankrupted because they can’t accommodate unnecessary regulations. Administrative agencies have gone so far to limit most service or appliance merchants, hamstringing operations that they struggle to keep their doors open.
Where counties have virtually “lost” land to federal agencies by way of executive order and the simple publishing of land grabs in the Federal Register rather than the lawful actions of state legislatures and Congress, home rule should be entertained to enforce the Ninth and Tenth Amendments and legally remove federal influences. That means lands that have been arbitrarily placed under the jurisdiction of executive departments and subject agencies by fiat--USDA, USFS, USFW, BLM, BIA, et al which policies harm local citizens’ health, welfare and livelihoods --county jurisdiction may be re-established via home rule.
Having reached this point of no return because neither state or federal authorities will take meaningful action, it may be time for counties to take a hard look at home rule. There is a caveat to getting a home rule operation that actually serves the local community according to Kody Justus, the Oregon rancher quoted earlier, “the beauty of Home Rule is if you have circuit judges, sheriff and county commissioners on the same page--all elected by the people--the people will be served.”
Root out looters in office and replace them with citizens willing to serve their community
And, if not, state and federal interference in local affairs won’t be stopped.
Sheriff Richard Mack, founder of Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, noting he had not worked in a county where home rule had been established, did say this, “I do know that Home Rule charters are not the same in all places. If a Home Rule though, attempted to control or limit the elected sheriff in any manner, then doing something like that would be illegal. The sheriff answers to the people, not the county commission or a home rule charter.”
The answer in counties where citizens recognize their rights have been “denied” or “disparaged,” or their powers haven’t been “delegated to the United States by the Constitution” is to root out looters in office and replace them with citizens willing to serve their community. Then can home rule be instituted according to the individual state’s legislation, constitution or, going back to the beginning, the U.S. Constitution.
The tipping point is government violation of citizens’ basic rights to supply for their family needs and care down to performing everyday household chores. The unconstitutional imposition of executive restrictions signals it’s time to initiate local authority and send federal management back to its only sphere of influence--the ten square miles of Washington, D.C., certain roads, buildings and military installations as defined in Article I Section 8 of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Who better to manage a county’s natural resources, economy and living conditions than the locals who know their neighbors, can best protect their environment, and understand the rights and needs of their community?
