CSN - Citizen Voice - Thanksgiving Edition - 11/24/2022
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!
Today is Thanksgiving Day, and despite all the trials, tribulation, and troubles in the past few years, we have arrived on this historic day in the year of our Lord, 2022. As we look back on the past few years, they seem filled with ugliness with brutal attacks upon possessions, property, and people. Yet, the nation is still intact despite efforts to provoke civil war. This past year’s general election has just been held, but it seems far from over. But, despite the mainstream media’s attempt to portray the results in a certain light, the MSM light is growing dim because more and more people have become fed up with deception and mental manipulation – at least the perceptively intelligent ones. They are the ones who can discern the difference between the lies and the truth. So, amidst the ugly there are many points to consider in gratitude.
Despite efforts to swiftly take over the culture of the United States, enough people with principle are rising up to stem the evil tides of chaos. Despite efforts to swiftly edge parents out from the equation of caring for their children and despite labeling such parents domestic terrorists, there are enough parents of principle who care for their children who are arising to resist and reverse such insane conspiracies against our young people. And despite the ever-mounting evidence of election irregularities and the appearance of manipulation, enough principled patriots are arising to illuminate and expose corrupt election procedures as well as those orchestrating them.
America is going through a transformation for the good, despite the bad and the ugly. So, it may not match up to the Thanksgivings of the past, but there are glimmerings of hope within the dark times the nation has been suffering from in this segment of our nation’s history. It may not easily match up to the Thanksgivings of the recent past, but if one is aware of the history of the nation within its stages of gestation, it is easier to understand that America may have never come into existence due to the trials, tribulation, and troubles of those we call Pilgrims.
For some unique and unusual reasons, the American Indians’ hostility toward the English was suspended among the Wampanoag Indians. They could have easily wiped out the struggling Pilgrim people in that first Winter, but they did not. They chose to make a peace treaty with the Pilgrims and klive in peace with them. This noble gesture in our history needs to be revived.
As we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, it is good that Americans could understand not only the truth of the pain and suffering of the Pilgrims, but also the mercy shown to the suffering 50 odd survivors by the Wampanoag people’s act of mercy. It is recorded history; however, it is not ideologically-rooted, agenda-driven, or some progressive-revisionist narrative attempting to put poison in people’s minds and hearts. By focusing upon the bitterness and pain, and noting little else, we do not benefit from the goodness or God’s presence in the past.
The foundation for the “First Thanksgiving” at Plymouth in 1621 included pain and suffering, but it also brought an incredible unity between two diverse peoples; those people were from quite different races, spoke different languages, were from vastly different cultures, followed different religions, and yet there was a unity that led to the “First Thanksgiving.” For three days they celebrated together, feasted together, and shared in fun and sport together in a land that had just devastated the people through the horrible plagues and the inhumanity of evil actors.
That was the gestation of the foundation for the United States of America. We should not forget
the original purpose and this true history in which the roots of this nation were planted by such seeds of faith, fellowship and Grace from the heart of God. Hopefully, this festive holiday truly for family and friends could be more than just a mere focus upon food or football or frivolity. Our message today one again briefly addresses this importance in American history.
For our Thanksgiving edition, our holiday format will more likely resemble our Sunday format, which readers may realize is different from our normal Thursday edition. Today, I am submitting the second part of my message, “The Pain and the Peace Leading to the ‘First Thanksgiving.’” Again, it is hoped that before the truth of events fade into the past, before clarity of the actual events begin to become distorted, or the purpose behind the events is lost, Americans could re-embrace the purpose of the original holiday as we celebrate the holiday today. All material things can be put in their respective places of importance. Hopefully, readers could grasp that there is much more within the roots of this traditional celebration than turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
As mentioned in our editions last week, the LightWing Mission was going live, and yesterday we had our inaugural Zoom call. We had representatives from Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, California, and Washington State. It was the beginning of an effort to fulfill on a foundational level, a mission to which I felt called to help in the pursuit of His Righteousness and in the building of His Kingdom.
If readers want to join in the future calls, get your name on the list for an invitation. Simply send an email request for the Zoom link to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com
As always, it is our genuine hope that our readers enjoy all of our features today, and that everyone could have a truly enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday filled with much to be grateful for, but it will not be too much of a task to count one’s blessings. Enjoy the various videos for today – two of those were the Thanksgiving proclamations from George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Also, if readers know others who might value the messages, please consider the possibility of becoming one of our LightWing messengers and pass this newsletter on to those whom you feel would be able to receive it. Or simply, please review it yourselves.
We wish for all of you a blessed Thanksgiving this year! May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones on this Thanksgiving Day and may God bless America!

May we truly come before God in humility; may we come before Heavenly Father in true repentance for our transgressions against Heaven and against one another. May we turn from our wicked ways - whether it simply show iup as apathy or indifference to injustice, or even lack of proactivity in being good stewards of our Republic. May we truly renew our covenant with God and return to His blueprint for a Land of the Free, so we can keep our Republic. May we once again embrace the self-evident truths and become better at protecting and promoting our inherited freedoms.
The Pain and the Peace Leading to the ‘First Thanksgiving’ (II)

The following message is the second part of an article posted in our Citizen Voice Sunday edition on November 20, 2022. Part I was posted in that edition of the LightWing Messages, yet there is some overlap into the second part and some blending of the two parts; however, the core of the entire message should not be lost. A link to that 11/20 edition can be found at the bottom of this message.
History in our society is currently being used to divide people and expose circumstances of disparity, domination, and exploitation. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday this year, it would be good if it could be understood a bit more from a God-centered point of view, as opposed to a secular progressive-revisionists and the ideologically bankrupt perspective of cultural Marxists. While they attempt to provide a contorted narrative of a Thanksgiving story, and claim it reveals a racist and white-supremacist history, the attempt does not work when one knows the truth, and as Jesus said: “The truth will set you free.”
Sadly, when this period of English colonial history is studied, it is not the peace that was established between these two races or diverse peoples that is studied; it is usually the breakdown of that peace, or King Phillip’s War that is scrutinized by the progressive - revisionist historians. So, by the numbers, the peace between the Pilgrims (not the Puritans) and the Wampanoag technically lasted from 1621 to 1675 -- 54 years. But, those who focus on this period, focus on King Phillip’s War that lasted for fourteen months from 1675 to 1676.
While there is so much of God at work in the “First Thanksgiving” in 1621 that the truth is hard to miss if one is looking from a God-centered point of view….
Tisquantum, or Squanto, was a real person and became central in the effort to help the struggling Pilgrims as well as helping to lay the foundation for the peace treaty. He shows up in the written record. The treaty is in the written record…
After he was enslaved and taken away, Squanto’s village of Patuxet was wiped out by the plague, like many Indian villages. Yet, in all that Squanto was caught up in, he was truly focused on getting back home again. Eventually, he was freed from slavery when some Spanish priests paid for his freedom - likely in the Caribbean. It is reported that he became a Christian. Then, in the timeline of his return home, he somehow made it to England. The history is not totally clear, but somehow he was able to get onto a ship to either Spain or England, likely with the help of the Spanish priests. While in Britain, he improved his English. Later, at some point in 1620, he arranged to serve as a guide and translator on a ship exploring the northern coast of North America. He agreed to an arrangement that he would get dropped off near his homeland as payment for his services. It is important to take into account God’s timing in all of this.
Squanto’s journeys eventually got him back to his home sometime in the Summer or Fall of 1620. Another American Indian, Samoset, a minor Indian Chieftain (a sagamore) from an area now known as Maine, had been visiting the area many months before the Pilgrim arrival. Samoset also knew English, but Squanto had a bit better command of it due to living in England. Sadly, when Squanto got back to Patuxet, all he had known was no more - no family – no village. He had essentially become an orphan and essentially homeless.
The Pilgrims arrived that November, and began exploring the area – first for wood and food, and then to determine if it could be their new home. They mainly stayed on the ship. The Indians of the area were very cautious of the Europeans and simply observed them - they watched them all through that Winter. They had little interaction, with a few minor skirmishes, but with zero casualties. But, the Wamponoag were no threat. Death came to the Pilgrims due to illnesses such as scurvy and pneumonia. Their bodies were weakened on the long journey across the Atlantic; they became more susceptible to disease due to lack of proper shelter in the cold, wet wintery weather.
The Mayflower Compact is a powerful foundational document for self-government and was needed because they had no legal authority from Britain to be where The King had not claimed authority. When the Mayflower returned, they also sent a petition back to the King to receive permission to establish a colony in the Massachusetts area. Yet, there was something that has been missed in this history, which aligns with the words of Jesus and with the ongoing Providence of God.
God’s intervention in this moment in history was much more deeply involved than most people realize.
“In two or three months’ time, half of their company died, especially in January and February, being the depth of Winter, and wanting houses and other comforts, being infected with the scurvy and other diseases which this long voyage had brought upon them; so as they died sometimes two or three a day; that of the hundred and odd persons scare fifty remained. And of therein the time of distress, there was but six or seven sound persons, who spared no pains night or day, but with abundance of toil and hazard of their own health, fetched them wood, made them fires, dressed their meat, made their beds, washed their loathesome clothes, clothed and unclothed them; in a word, did all the homely and necessary offices for them which dainty and queasy stomachs cannot endure to hear named; and all this willingly and cheerfully, without any grudging in the least.” A Brief History of the Pilgrims (compiled from the writings of Governor Bradford and Governor Winslow)
And who is my neighbor?” “The one who had mercy...”
Despite his struggles and suffering, Squanto was in an incredible position to assist and his help in teaching the Pilgrims was probably authorized, if not initiated, by the leader, the sachem (king) of the Wampanoag, Massasoit. Secondly, it was Massasoit who initiated the peace treaty in the Spring of 1621.
Squanto was in an incredible position to play the role of the Good Samaritan in his help with teaching the Europeans how best to fertilize their crops – especially growing corn, which was one of the “three sisters” providing the healthy nourishment to help those of the Pilgrims who survived to regain their strength after that devastating first Winter. He did more to help them as well – all through the summer of 1621.
Yet, Squanto was not the first Indian they came to speak with. As mentioned, Samoset spoke English as well, and on Friday, March 26, an amazing event took place: “That morning we determined to conclude our military orders, which we had begun to consider before, but were interrupted by the savages, as we mentioned formerly. And while we were busied hereabout, we were interrupted again; for there presented himself a savage, which caused an alarm. He very boldly came all alone, and along the house, straight to the rendezvous; where we intercepted him, not suffering him to go in, as undoubtedly he would out of his boldness. He saluted us in English, and bade us ‘Welcome!’” for he had learned some broken English among the Englishmen that came to fish at Monhegan…” from Mourt’s Relation: A Journal of the Pilgrims of Plymouth
This grand entrance by Samoset was the initiation of helping the Pilgrims learn that they were in the abandoned village of Patuxet and learn a bit about their Indian neighbors in the immediate vicinity. He also gave them a heads up on the various tribes who hated the English. It also led to their understanding of Massasoit, the primary sachem of the Wampanoags and his desire to make peace with the English settlement. This led to the assistance from Tisquantum (Squanto), and it led to the peace treaty established in March of 1621.
This treaty was comprised of five basic points, essentially a simple: “you watch our back and we’ll watch yours” type of agreement. But, on the foundation of Squanto’s diligent assistance with the Pilgrims throughout the summer of 1621, after the peace treaty was established in March, the celebration we know as the First Thanksgiving could become a joyful occasion. It originated from the Pilgrims’ gratitude for genuine friendship from the Indians and the renewal of the Pilgrim community.
It is indeed tragic that many Americans, possibly even some Wampanoag descendents, do not realize that the “First Thanksgiving” came upon the foundation of a peace treaty on March 22, 1621, created between Massasoit, the Wampanoag leader and Mr. John Carver, the first governor of the Plymouth Colony. Even when Carver died, about one month after the signing of the treaty, the new governor, William Bradford kept honoring the treaty. Bradford was subsequently elected the Governor of the struggling colony in 1621. And, that peace prevailed until Massasoit died in 1661 – a period of at least 40 years. And, in all honesty, it did not actually break down until King Phillip’s War (also known as Metacomet’s rebellion) that began in 1675.
To ignore over fifty years of peace between the Indians and the Pilgrims (not the Puritans) deliberately restricts the possibilities of maintaining a true perspective in grasping the value of this period of peace. Those who truly pursue peace may wonder why the secular world essentially focuses on factors that emphasize the destructiveness of human beings and ignore the promotion of peace. Yet, many Progressive historians seem to be happy to fan the flames of divisiveness and foment disunity, destruction and death 0when writing history.
Unfortunately today, the foundation for the original celebration has either been forgotten, or has been so romanticized and viewed in mythical proportions since the initial event in 1621. Reality often takes a backseat to the mythology that encroaches the truth over time. And, as historical events often fade into the shadows of the past, the actual people involved and the real events that occurred become distorted. However, the true events in this history reveal God at work in a truly transformational advancement of Providence.

We continue to urge citizens to take ownership of the responsibility to keep the Republic!
Remember, an educated and enlightened citizenry is vital for our future. As it has been written:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
The Citizens Voice provides information that the mainstream media hopes people don’t receive. Forward these newsletters to your friends and let them witness, first hand, that there is more than one side to a story. Then they will begin to understand the peril that our nation is in and be able to make informed decisions.
We are truly thankful for all of our readers who have chosen to assist our efforts in bringing the information and words of encouragement to all Americans we can possibly reach. We are truly grateful for the generous donations from our fellow Citizen Sentinels. It helps us keep going as a truly volunteer effort. Thank you so very much for whatever can be given.
"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." ~ Samuel Adams, 1776
Ownership of our Republic is now the fight of our time! Keeping our Republic depends upon the genuine sense of ownership of the Land of the Free. Either this is our country, or it will belong to those who are actively seeking to take it from us. It is the same mentality that inspired someone long ago to express the sentiment that “All it takes for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing.” Efforts to take responsibility for keeping this nation a free Republic are organically occurring right now all across the nation.
