Note From the Founder…
Tomorrow is Veterans Day and it is fitting to honor those who have served in the military, and one can easily assess the obvious reasons; however, there are some not so obvious reasons. The Citizen Sentinels Network is offering this message to provide a better understanding of why it is still important to honor our veterans, despite the recent adverse effects upon those in active service in one branch of the military or another. It is becoming increasingly clear that there is an active element within the current civilian administration that is attempting to undermine and weaken our current military in active duty. There are also recent events from certain government sectors that have shown a specific disregard or disrespect for our veterans who sincerely served their fellow citizens through their enlistment, even some at the risk of their lives while on duty.
The military was politicized long ago – most specifically after the armed forces were deployed to the jungles of Vietnam. Those who politicized it then are now the ones in the seats of power in this time and are bringing their disrespect for the military into their roles in this administration.
Unfortunately, it is not hard to witness how some current “elected” democrats handle honoring our nation’s veterans. The American Indians used to be quoted as saying that “the White man speaks with forked tongue.” Many still do, they mainly belong to the political class. Politicians mostly can talk a good talk, look great in photo ops; yet, one needs only to look at the recent controversies over homeless veterans to know that many big city Democrat mayors value illegal immigrants over our veterans. This is not only disgusting; it is also quite revealing of the existing disrespect of those who served this country.
Veterans Day presents an opportunity to the general public to demonstrate their gratitude to the men and women who served the nation knowing they could be thrust into harm's way any time during their enlistment. There is no law forcing people to offer such respect, but a demonstration of respect or disrespect says a great deal about the people of the nation. The genuine irony at this time is that America is facing a nefarious threat from our enemies abroad as well as within the country from those who have no regard for the Juedo-Christian heritage, nor the founding principles at the bedrock of our nation, and we need those individuals like our veterans to help in the fight against such enemies – foreign or domestic.
All that has been happening in America since the fateful days of 9/11 may not be easy to digest for the average American citizen. But, those citizens who are aware, should be concerned and should care about how our veterans, as well as the men and women currently in the military are being treated by civilian leaders in our government. Those who have served may need more support at this time than they have ever needed the support of “We the People.” The gratitude of the nation may make all the difference in the world to the lives of veterans who need to know of our respect and thankfulness for their service.
The first article in this edition I offer to honor the men and women who have taken upon themselves the responsibility to serve the cause of Freedom – not to tolerate any government corruption or even criminal, perhaps treasonous behavior from so-called leaders of our nation.
The second article is by Michael J. Lewinski and it is related to one of the themes in my article. Lewinski’s article is entitled, Shining Light Upon the Pervasive Influence of Corrupt Politicians and Elitists.” Lewinski refers to an article by William Wolfe, ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’ Oliver Anthony reveals who he really is, in which Wolfe makes inferences about about Oliver Anthony's popular ballad.
“Veterans’Day - 2023: Re-Igniting the Flame of Freedom in The Land of the Free”
By Dennis Jamison 10/8/23
This Saturday is the traditional day established as “Veterans’ Day” for American citizens to take time to remember our nations’ veterans. Hopefully, most Americans will take some time from their busy weekends to remember the veterans. In reflecting on the veterans this year, Veterans Day came right after the elections on Tuesday, which were fairly dismal commentaries on the
Lack of morality rampant in our nation in such a time as this.
To be perfectly honest with regard to the connection between the nation’s elections and our veterans, the elections in this period of American history actually dishonor the veterans – many who sacrificed greatly for freedom. The irregularities and malfeasance, whether planned or genuinely due to incompetence definitely are an insult to the service our veterans offered to the nation.
On the one hand, elections are intended to provide a way for citizens to determine those who they prefer to lead them within the government arena. Those elected officials, representatives of the people, are supposed to serve as “public servants.” However, the real public servants are the men and women in uniform who are assigned missions to protect the people’s freedoms. On the other hand, politicians who are elected officials consider themselves privileged and often are quite egotistical and consider themselves better than the people they serve. They would likely reject the notion that they serve anyone other than their own self interests or the pursuit of raw power for their respective political parties.
As citizens, “We the People” have developed an inverted sense of value when comparing the two categories of people – those who serve in the military and those who run for office. Those who serve in the military signed up knowing that they may have to put themselves in harm’s way to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. A majority of politicians these days do not seem to care one way or another about the Constitution, and there are many who would work against the freedoms the Law of the Land protects. The standard of measurement of what “We the People” truly value as a society has been contorted and by “electing” politicians to the positions of responsibility, we have placed trust in people who should not deserve our trust. It is relatively good that we can honor our veterans on this day of remembrance, but we “honor” the men and women who run for office by funding their campaigns and then after “elected,” they will most gladly spend our tax dollars on many items we do not approve of – like “endless” wars, and then demand we send our military into harm's way.
There is an inverted sense of value in such a continuous loop of nonsense. It is the men and women in the military who are the ones who will endure hardships and have to suffer sacrifices
that some politicians would never consider having to deal with the consequences they initiate.
Those men and women who are veterans, who have served their country, and who become politicians, often understand much more deeply the role of a public servant because they have lived through the hardships and dangers while in service to their fellow citizens. One may say that such individuals have earned the right to run for an elected position in government.
The general public should hold good and faithful public servants in high esteem, regardless of whether the individuals served in the military or not. Good and faithful – good by what standard of measurement? – faithful to whom or to what? Good may be something that citizens no longer believe is possible in such an ocean of corruption? Much skepticism regarding whether politicos could be “good” seems to exist amidst the general public. It may be that they do not view that as part of the job description for a politician. “Good” may be a seemingly meaningless standard of measurement when so many public figures in the political arena prove so corrupt and dishonest.
Those qualities may be part of the job description of a bonafide politician.
“Faithful” is another real quandary. Even without delving into the realm of faith, one question that could be asked is whether those who run for office are faithful to their husbands or wives. It is very unlikely that if a person cannot be faithful to one person, how could they be faithful to their many constituents? If one thinks about veterans who seek a public office, their record of loyalty to their country should matter. But, does it? Veterans who served as officers should have an advantage over those politicians whose only loyalty was to their own advancement. But do they enjoy such an advantage in the corrupt political arena? Does the public consider “faithfulness” as a factor when deciding whether to vote for a candidate who is a veteran? Does it matter?
Do veterans only matter once a year, when people look up from their busy lives and remember to remember the veterans? Certainly, it matters more to some than to others - perhaps more to people who know veterans, or to those who have relatives that are veterans. In truth, veterans, in general, should deserve more respect due to their service to their nation and to the people. Yet that may not be the case in 2023.
Obviously, there is far greater respect now than in the 60s for our men and women who have
served, or who are now serving in the armed services. But, there are serious challenges for veterans who return home after their deployment or enlistment. Many find the challenges of re-adjusting to civilian life a bit more than they can handle and some end up homeless. Those stories are human tragedies. Nevertheless, some do enter the political arena and some turn out to be gems in relation to other politicians who only intend to promote their own interests or their agendas. In either extreme, do Americans only value veterans once a year?
Years after the American Revolution, several people had been quoted as saying that “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” Although being attributed to a number of worthy statesmen, such men were probably simply quoting someone else. However, it was the Irish orator John Curran who is credited with the first known statement of such sentiment when, in 1790, he stated: “It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance.” The real value of those who have served the nation is that they did so knowing that they may have to offer their lives in keeping the vigil over the flame of Freedom – in standing in the gap between Freedom and tyranny.
Would such veterans be any less vigilant if they were not on the frontlines? Would veterans who had sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, be less vigilant in protecting and defending the Land of the Free while serving in public office? Would they be more likely to oppose every threat to the principles upon which this great nation was founded? Quite a few contemporary politicians come to mind that currently oppose or actively undermine America’s fundamental principles embedded in the Constitution or the Judeo-Christian values at the heart of our culture.
In recent decades, our veterans had served our nation in many places around the world to stand for the principles of Freedom and the Judeo-Christian values as the basis for a free people. It is clear that they served as sentinels in many lands to maintain some degree of peace within or of security in a very toxic world environment. They tended to keep order amidst the chaos pressing in upon them. Now that chaos has pressed in upon our land, pressed in upon our cities, pressed in upon our homes and places of worship and in upon our schools. Never before has there been a more dire time to defend the Land of the Free. The United States is facing an existential threat whether low information voters or clueless idiots realize it or not.
The Republic is facing a clear and present danger from outside the nation, but there is an even more insidious threat from those who are inside our nation who care little for the founding values and principles of God-given rights and the right of self-governance. Some are even viewed as a leader within specific realms of our society. On this Veterans Day, at the very least, it would be right to offer our gratitude to the men and women for their service. But, from the other view, the veterans who love the Freedom they once swore to protect and defend need to have a real gut check and resolve to once again protect what they truly value. Such veterans, maybe more than other citizens, may sense the need that exists for bold and brave men and women to stand up again, to show up in such a time and to speak out in defense of Freedom. It was such a caliber of people who gave birth to the Land of the Free, and it will take that caliber of people to revive
America. America will remain the Land of the Free because it remains the home of the brave!
Shining Light Upon the Pervasive Influence of Corrupt Politicians and Elitists
By Michael James Lewinski
"Rich Men North of Richmond is the anthem of a new American Revolution," says William Wolfe in a recent essay, ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’ Oliver Anthony reveals who he really is, about Oliver Anthony's new ballad. He observes that old souls want the values they grew up with in a world now turned upside down.
"Anthony’s ballad tells the tale of the forgotten man in America, the one whose dollar “ain’t worth” crap anymore, who is working overtime for worthless pay, and watching politicians, the
“Rich Men North of Richmond run[s] heritage America into the ground."
Anthony promises us justice when God judges our wicked, failed political leaders. Progressives,
he notes, will be punished for enriching themselves at the expense of the common man. The wicked will pay for trying to turn our beloved America into a Communist hellhole.
Do you long for the values, civility, kindness, and happy times you grew up in? Are you listening to your heart which is in touch with your soul? I hope and pray you do, so this will not be a violent American Revolution.
The most important thing we, as a people, must do is go to God and repent for our sins as individuals and as a nation. Then we must humbly ask Him for the wisdom to rid our land of this Progressive scourge. When you are sure you have heard from your Savior, act with joy.
I expect God told you to work with godly people of a moderate, Libertarian, or Conservative persuasion. If you are financially able, feed their campaigns with money. If you are capable, knock on doors and pass out yard signs and literature. Working in their offices, answering phones, calling voters, greeting walk-ins, and running errands is very helpful. Your money and time investments will reward us with a GOOD America.
If we as a people do not do these and other things like running for office, Progressives will continue to ruin our lives. You have yet to learn what future inflation will be like. Eventually, you will be stuck in a highrise in their 15-minute cities. Thank you for reading my plea for a new American Revolution.
