The Greater Glory of the New Covenant
Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 (NIV)

FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
It is hard to believe we have arrived at the mid-point of 2023, as time seems to have flown so quickly from the beginning of this year, and it seems a lifetime of experiences have flown past in the previous six months. And now, we are on the doorstep of our national holiday to celebrate and honor the events of the founding of this once great country. So much has happened in our nation’s history to elevate us to this point: from the proclamation of the ideals, through the many struggles to implement and live up to the ideals, and now we have come full circle to honestly demonstrate before Heaven and Earth what we truly believe in that would cause Americans to be willing to sacrifice greatly in order to never ever lose it. Because, all denial aside, Americans are in danger of forfeiting our sovereignty to those who do not embrace the values, principles and ideals our nation was founded upon.
I reference the events that indicate or prove that the Spirit of God is waning in America because our government no longer represents the will of the people of faith. We can think it does, or we can pretend as if it is still the case, but those who are honest within themselves, need to admit that the federal government does not represent the general will of the people, and it is no longer in alignment with the Judeo-Christian values woven into the fabric of the founding documents. So, what to do. zOne first step would be to seek God’s face in genuine humility and to sincerely repent – face to face, for not adhering to the fundamental principles that were derived from such values. Sincere repentance - not bartering repentance, or “deal-making repentance” could lay a better foundation for restoring the Republic.
The LightWing edition today offers abridged passages from the Declaration of Independence, so we could refresh our memories of what it was that the founders truly believed in, rather than the watered down fragments from what others have claimed they believed. The second message is one I offer from an article I wrote after my own honest repentance and struggle to grasp the true essence of America’s soul. Do we even consider the soul of our nation anymore?
What is it that made America great? It was not our wealth, or our military might or scientific achievements that made the nation great even amidst the community of those long established nations or empires. It was not the power, prestige, or wealth that made America a great country. The nation was poor, backward and weak before we grew into greatness. It was the Spirit of God that descended upon the nation and blessed this nation by granting us and protecting our freedom. America had become great because God raised this nation as a champion of Freedom because where Freedom can exist, God can help His children to grow more.
It is still not too late in 2023 for Americans to awaken and realize this and recover again such a position to serve His Providence. But, the Spirit of God will not be deceived; it cannot be conned into covenant. While many calls have gone out from many leaders of faith for repentance and a true return of our hearts and minds to Heavenly Father and His Will, we are still in such a state at such a time as this. Americans must realize that we cannot simply thrust such responsibility onto the shoulders of our religious or political leaders, much as we may prefer to. The authority of our government has always been based upon two things: our covenant and relationship with God and with one another. When the Spirit of God no longer is present in those fundamental relationships, we only have the name of being a Republic – there is no genuine life in it. So, it is imperative that “We the People” reclaim their authority and return to “One Nation Under God.”

May we truly humble ourselves by putting our egos on mute for a bit during our nation’s birthday celebration. May we seek His face in humility and truly repent for forfeiting our positions as sovereign leaders of this nation. May we repent for our wickedness. May we seek God’s intervention in such a divisive time in our nation’s history. May we continue to strive for HIs Kingdom and seek for His Righteousness always.
Declaration of Independence
(Partial Text)
WHEN in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. But, when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security. Such has been the patient Sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the Necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The History of the present King of Great-Britain is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid World...
We, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political Connection between them and the State of Great-Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

Independence Day & “We the People” Reviving Freedom

We are celebrating our nation’s birthday at a time of darkness and great divisiveness plaguing the country. Indeed, it is a very challenging time, similar to the time Thomas Paine wrote about before our Republic was born: “These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country…” However,
this time of division is also a time of great confusion. Much misinformation, disinformation and a serious lack of information undermines the foundations of our Constitutional Republic. On the verge of the 2024 election, citizens are in danger of losing the Republic that the Founders established through their tremendous sacrifice amidst the trying times Paine recorded.
This time of divisiveness is a time in which the foundations of our nation and fundamental institutions are being threatened. While many threats exist, in recent years, one of the most serious threats to preserving the Republic that has surfaced is the effort to undermine trust and confidence in the system of electing our leaders. It is truly painful to observe deliberate efforts to undermine American citizens' right to transparent, honest and fair elections. Such efforts are essentially designed to eliminate the right of the citizen to voice support or opposition to ballot initiatives, public propositions, and political candidates. This means that the concept of “the consent of the governed,” as proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence, is destroyed.
This means that citizens no longer enjoy the fruits of freedom given to us by the Founders.
The right of the people to choose their leaders through honest elections has been viewed as sacred since the birth of the nation. Once this right to voice consent or disapproval through the ballot box is lost, it is extremely difficult to restore.Those who have been paying attention to the controversy over the integrity of elections in recent years will understand this more easily. Many
patriots in several affected states across the nation are rising up to such challenges to elections.
Key battleground states where recent elections have determined the future of those states, as well as the future of the nation, are now known to many Americans.
Yet, the basis for those willing to manipulate the elections for a favorable outcome does not stem from the leadership of the two political parties; the basis originates more fundamentally from those of either political party who lack respect for the ideals upon which the nation was founded. When the Declaration is ignored, or not even recognized when it is quoted or read aloud, or when it is banned from social media platforms as “hate speech,” how can people in this day adhere to: “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed…”
How is it that citizens hold onto such self-evident truths? Do we self-identify with them as a white person may self-identity as a black person, or a man may self-identify as a woman?
Do we simply believe in them as a Christian would believe in Jesus - by simple faith alone? Consider, another self-evident truth: “By their fruits you will know them.” Or, contemplate: “Faith without works is dead.” Do the faithful select which biblical passages are safe and which ones are believed not aligned with reality? The essence of the founding generation was that they truly believed in the self-evident truths proclaimed in the Declaration. How do we know this? Because they were willing to die for what they believed in. And many gave their lives for Freedom.
It would be plain to determine through the fruits brought forth whether people are holding onto such self-evident truths or not. A fundamental problem would arise if people who proclaim they are holding onto such truths, do not do anything to uphold self-evident truths proclaimed in the Declaration. Running away from the support of those self-evident truths when they are attacked or being destroyed reveals much about those “sunshine patriots.” Freedom may seem great as long as one does not have to fight for it.
In the same manner, Jesus is wonderful just as long as he is not asking anyone to demonstrate their faith in him, or in God. Consider how quickly Peter disowned Jesus on the morning after he was arrested. Patriots who risked their lives, or gave their lives for those self-evident truths were willing to defend the truths with their lives. Do we, who have the name of being Americans, still hold to those self-evident truths? Or, are they just hollow phrases that flow from politicians’ mouths who may use their words to virtue signal to prospective voters? It is often only after they become elected that the citizens see their true colors, or get a real taste of their fruit. Some of those who have been elected have abandoned those self-evident truths before they were elected, or have been poisoned by the swamp when they took office.
In this day as in the days of our founders, we are in a time of darkness and great divisiveness plaguing the country. For obvious reasons, on this Independence Day, many good Americans may seriously wonder whether the days of enjoying our freedoms that were won at great cost are numbered. The nation has come full circle in the past few years as we face tyrannical state and federal regimes content to ignore the citizens’ genuine preferences at the ballot box, intent upon limiting citizen’s God-given rights and restricting or destroying our individual freedoms one by one. But on this Independence Day, one must consider that in an even worse dark period under greater tyranny, the Land of the Free was born.
Indeed, in this year, nearly 250 years from the Boston Tea Party, the concept of a free people being fairly and honestly represented by the elected officials, seems far off as many citizens have witnessed serious threats to preserving the Republic – especially by those who are aware of deliberate efforts to undermine American citizens' right to honest and fair elections and thwart the free exercise of genuine feedback and “the consent of the governed,” thus destroying the foundation for a just government – no longer “a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” But, the key for a just government, whose authority derives from the consent of the people, has always been in the hands of the people.
If we collectively, as a critical mass, no longer hold onto the self-evident truths proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence, we have abandoned our authority to those who definitely want to crush the truths we should cherish. The self-evident truths have proclaimed our God-given rights. When the people no longer grasp the value of our God-given rights, we will tolerate our rights being granted or removed by tyrants who do not respect any rights. However, the reverse is also true: When we grasp the value of our God-given rights, and determine to hold onto the self-evident truths at all costs, it will be the cowards, criminals and deceivers who will be forced to surrender the Republic they have usurped.
There was no expiration date on our God-given, inalienable rights. When “We the People” are able to reclaim them, and it requires commitment and dedication to real action (not lip service or virtue signaling) and sustained participation in the political arena - spectators or commentators cannot Keep the Republic. The fundamental foundation of our Constitutional Republic and the basis for our freedoms are the acceptance, embrace and protection of our God-given rights. In these dark times, despite what appears to be a hopeless situation to many, America has been through worse times, and positive change comes from people who desire it so badly no one can stop them.
To move forward in such a time as this, it will take everyone who cares about the survival of the Republic to reach into their hearts to find the passion and strength of will to take ownership of the struggle and find the ways open to push back, to resist, to work hard, and work smart. Networks of concerned citizens need to be built upon the purpose of protecting of our God-given rights and fueled with burning desires for positive and productive change. Alliance with and real cooperation with other networks is needed to reconstruct the institutions of the Republic from the grassroots up. The Republic is not dead yet. “We the People” need to realize we are the Republic!
