Jesus Comes to Jerusalem
After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,
“Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”
Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.
When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.” Luke 19:28-44 (NIV)
As we tread forward into the new month of April on this Palm Sunday, we are saddened by so many things in recent days. The horrible tragedy of the Christian school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee brings tears because it only highlights the ruthlessness of evil in our midst. And the recent indictment of President Donald Trump only highlights the level of lawless disregard for the rule of existing law. It reveals much more about the criminals who are getting away with the protracted pursuit of our president than it says about the allegations of criminal conduct made against him. And, many words are flying back and forth about such an indictment. And last, but not least there is the recent loss of life brought about by the numerous tornadoes that struck into the heartland over this weekend. We ask that our readers deeply pray for all the victims of these various tragedies. Holy Week begins with a tremendous call for us to truly draw from the depths of our souls our cries to Heavenly Father for His mercy upon our people.
For the Jewish faithful, Passover begins this week and it is forever linked with the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus and the Christian holiday of Easter next Sunday. I find it a very interesting conjunction of events, but it was Jesus himself who had a hand in orchestrating the sequence of events. He was completely obedient to our Heavenly Father to the end of his earthly life. And, as we consider the sequence of events in a comprehensive manner, there is the account of his weeping over the city and the people of Jerusalem. Some Christians may not remember, or give much thought to such an incident, as more is made in some traditional churches of a triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The account in Luke of Jesus weeping over the city and his people paints a different picture.
In the midst of this unusual processional entry into the city of Jerusalem, the Son of God paused to reflect on the reality and gravity of the moment. Why did he weep? For those who do address it, most understanding is geared toward the compassion Jesus had for the people of Jerusalem, which is similar to Abraham’s concern for the welfare of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. In this moment, however, Jesus saw the path before him, and the reality pressed in that he would not be there to carry on for Heaven on Earth. The ignorance of the people prevented them from knowing the time of his visitation as they “did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”
Such ignorance is a significant factor because God had guided these people for 2,000 years to get to this moment to receive His son, yet they refused to come to Jesus. (John 5:39-40)
The compassion expressed in this moment was God’s grief, and there was some indignation that was expressed later when Jesus entered the city and had very harsh words for the leaders in the time. (read all of Matthew 23), which is often neglected in the study of scriptures. There is much to consider in that chapter and in this moment Jesus took to shed tears over the city and for the people. He prophesied what would happen to the city and to the temple. In this period of time from this moment to the time of the crucifixion, Jesus expressed deep, deep sentiment and expressed directly the heart of God, including His anger as expressed in Matthew 23. It is a very real expression of how Jesus saw the reality of the Jewish leaders preventing the people from knowing his value to those to whom he was sent to save.
The reason these moments are important to consider is that they have lasting significance, but also there is a correlation to this day in which Christian leaders are not guiding their flocks in the right direction as in alignment with God’s Word, Will and Providence. America is considered the Second Israel, and in the moment of Jesus’ visitation, the leaders, as he expressed it, did not know God’s son. And, because of that, the people did not understand who he was. I submit that this was not God’s Will. The chosen people of Israel were chosen to be the ones to receive the Son of God. God knew it, Jesus knew it, most of Jesus’ Apostles knew it, but why was there such ignorance among the leaders? Or was it ignorance? And does this parallel what may be present in the Christian communities today?
We offer messages today from two great souls. I am truly appreciative of such great people of faith. The first message is from Apostle Tim Taylor, who stands as a mighty force for God’s Kingdom on Earth. He provides some clarity for the faithful in how to withstand the evil that we observe on the rise in our day. He provides some spiritual ammunition to deal with what needs to be dealt with in such a time as this.
The second message is from Dr. Robert Owens, who is a prolific writer who has submitted many articles to the Citizen Sentinels Network over the years. He asks: “Does Any of This Make Any Sense?” And, of course he does provide an answer. And of course, readers have to read to get the answer. But, Dr. Owens deals with some of the same realities that are concerning all of us who care about our nation and about the Kingdom.
As always, we hope our readers would consider all the messages in this edition as having some relevance or meaning, and if readers know others who might also value the messages, we pray they would consider becoming LightWing messengers and kindly pass our newsletters on to those who would welcome them – or simply, please receive them yourselves.
Also, our LightWing Messages now have a history via our Zoom calls. Our Zoom discussions are held each Wednesday evening. They are now going to be offered at 5pm PDT as we have indicated in previous editions. Additionally, this week we will be having an interview on the call. It has been arranged that another prolific writer, A. Dru Kristenev, is graciously willing to come on our call. The topic will focus on artificial intelligence or “AI,” which has recently made the news as Elon Musk and others have recommended a halt be put on the development of AI at this time die to the dangers that are seen. If you would like to discuss this message on our Zoom call this Wednesday and get the chance to ask questions of Kristenev, please reach out. If readers are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call, please send a brief email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com
May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless America!
May we humble ourselves, seek His Face, seek His Heart and seek His Mind and His Will. May we also repent, and turn from the realms of spiritual apathy or of the actively wicked ways of the world - even to be able to stand upright in such a time as this. Indeed, it is a time of great division and upheaval. May we remain in God’s tight grip in such a time.

How to Withstand in the Evil Day By Tim Taylor March 29, 2023
Our hearts are grieved at the transgendered woman who just entered a Christian school and murdered six people. Most of the major media’s responses betray their bias as they seek to persecute Christians, defend their twisted morals, shift blame to a gun, to use this incident to undermine God-given rights. I could go on describing rising inflation, rising crime, increasing lawlessness, our enemies from other lands are buying up ours, they own our debt and so many other injustices and persecutions (ie. shooting near our orphanage and or threats against our ministers in India). There are way too many to name.
It seems as if hell has been unleashed. It has. All it takes is a review of Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 18, 20 and 26 and you will find many of the characteristics described there, warnings, manifesting today. It’s God’s judgment. But, what you need to understand is that God’s judgment is actually love in action. It is correction! It is like when you get sick and want to throw up, it usually means you ingested something you ought not to.
2012 Sign that Marked my Message
We as a nation, though laws and policies have encouraged the population to commit acts the Bible describes as sin, iniquity and abominations. We find several examples of evil kings in Chronicles and Kings who implemented policies that “made Israel sin.” It is happening today wouldn’t you agree?
The Question is How Do You Stand in the Evil Day?
Ephesians 6 gives us the answer. Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
I am sure most of you are very familiar with the armor of God: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, loins girded with truth, feet prepared with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of the spirit. That is how YOU STAND.
But I want to focus on “withstand.” It means to resist, but I want to highlight something really important.
When Paul wrote Ephesians, he had witnessed the Praetorian Guard practicing. Each soldier was responsible to become very skilled with each weapon in their arsenal. They practiced regularly. They had a personal responsibility to ensure they could withstand in the evil day. But there is one more key element. They learned to fight as a team.
Withstand – Who do you stand with?
Hence, it is really important to know who are you standing with? Moses admonishes Israel to stand with God in Exodus 18:19 and in Numbers 1:5 God tells Moses the men he should stand with.
So the question is, whom do you stand with? As each issue arises, do you stand where God stands or do you find yourself standing in opposition to God and the Creator of the universe? I absolutely marvel and those who attend church but align themselves with political parties or movements that espouse policies and or ideologies (ie. like abortion) that are in direct opposition to God’s word.
This is indicative of their moral compass. Ever how far removed their stance from God’s word will indicate how much of the world’s deviation has crept into their moral compass. The only way to correct this is with the truth: God’s word!
Whom are you standing with? Are they courageous or are they cowards? Do they hold their ground and advance or do they retreat?
This is indicative of the amount of God’s love in their heart. 1 John 4:18 teaches us there is no fear in love, but rather, perfect love casts out fear. Courage is motivated by the love for God and His word.
The Assessment – the Valley of Decision!
Joel 2 speaks of a people that come forth in the Day of the LORD. It is a courageous people whom a fire burns before them and a flame comes after them. I believe that fire is indicative of the love for our heavenly Father in their heart and the flame that follows them is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Joel 3 speaks how all the nations are brought into a valley of decision.
The question is, where will you and I choose to stand? Will we choose to stand with our LORD or no? That determines who we stand with. I pray we choose wisely in this day.

Does Any of This Make Any Sense?
By Dr. Robert Owens [This is an excerpt from the book Hope by Dr. Owens] Looking at the world around us it’s easy to find ourselves asking this question. When we see the suffering, the depression, the poverty, and the horror of everyday life for so many it’s hard not to see the nightmare reality of this world as a curse.
That’s a good place to start searching for the meaning in it all because it is a curse.
You see when God created the world He created it as a good thing, a wondrous, and beautiful thing. Here’s the rub; actions have consequences.
I’ve always thought if I ever found a perfect church, I’d spoil it by joining because I’m not perfect. Most of us mature enough in life to realize we aren’t quite what we could or should be. Some people never attain this level of self-awareness and we judge them to suffer from a type of psychological problem known as narcissism. A central aspect of narcissism is grandiosity. That is, narcissists tend to think highly of themselves. In particular, they tend to have a positive view of themselves compared to other people.
Most of us don’t suffer from this malady. It is more often some form of feeling we aren’t good enough that plagues us. Those who stumble out of a dysfunctional family are all too often familiar with this one.
Whatever brand of psychobabble seeps through our lives working itself out in hubris and braggadocio or anxiety and self-doubt it doesn’t take a genius to figure out this world is messed up. Neither is it too complicated for the least perceptive among us to discern. All too often what the world calls good is bad and what the world calls bad is good. This alone is enough to make us see the fractured carnival mirror reflection of justice that permeates our reality. Add to this our personal experiences and anyone who thinks we’ve found ourselves in a bed of roses may be fooling themselves, but they aren’t fooling anyone else.
Anyone who can walk through this vale of tears with no faith is a better man than I Gunga Din.
I wasn’t able to do it. I made it till I was thirty years old and the meaninglessness of it all was on the verge of driving me to suicide. I kept coming back to if that's all there is, my friends then let's keep dancing let's break out the booze and have a ball if that's all there is. However, I found living at the perpetual party at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe was not very uplifting and after a while I couldn’t even pretend it was fun. How anyone can stagger through all this with no hope of anything beyond this is beyond me.
I can only pray that if they ever come to the end of themselves they will look to God. That’s what I did and I was surprised to find that God was looking at me.
‘Why is the world so messed up? Because God made man His viceroy in this creation and instead of listening to God and doing things His way we listened to Satan and gave the whole shooting match away. The story is there for us in Genesis and because of that decision, God laid a curse on the whole deal.
But, He also gave us a promise at the same time that He would send a Savior. Jesus is that Savior. The penalty for disobeying God is eternal separation from God. The only way back is to live a perfect life which no one can do. God became a human, lived a perfect life, and then died for the sins He never committed as a substitute for us.
In doing this He defeated sin, death, and the Devil. He also opened the way for all of us to get in on the action. All we have to do is accept Jesus as our leader in life and believe that God raised Him from the dead and that’s it. The whole deal is reversed, and we are welcomed home. Let’s run like the prodigal to greet the Father who has waited for us, who greets us like the lost child we are.
Does any of this make any sense? It does. As a matter of fact, it makes perfect sense.
You see no matter how messed up it is, if we will accept God’s offer, if we will step past the end of ourselves and into His waiting arms, the veil will fall from our eyes, and we will see this world for what it is: an incubator for the children of God.
It’s not a matter of seeing and then believing; instead, it’s a case of believing so you can see.
The Bible lays all this out in great detail. Anyone who’s interested can contact me for a guided tour.
