The Lord Appears to Solomon
When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.”
“As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws… “
“But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’” 2 chronicles 7:8-22
Jesus Predicts the Destruction of the Temple
As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
“Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” Mark 13:1-2 (NIV)
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
This week the true citizens of the United States, true Americans, will celebrate the birthday of our nation. Unfortunately, as evidenced in the past there are many who have the name of being American that do not celebrate, and are not concerned for our nation, or its future. But, beyond the apathy or lack of connectedness to our nation’s roots, there are other realms of people all across this nation who have little regard or respect for the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. They exhibit a disconnect between the blueprints and foundation of the nation as developed and defended through the sacrifice of blood and lives.
A little over a month ago, true citizens remembered such sacrifices through Memorial Day. It would be quite revealing if a poll were taken asking how many people gave a thought to such sacrifices in the creation and the defense of the Land of the Free on such a day in 2024. And, if such a poll were taken, it would reveal the genuine sense (if truth were told by the respondents) of how valuable such sacrifices are to their presence of mind today.
While America is still a free country -- for now – people can freely express what is truly on their minds. Well, even that is no longer true due to the censorship that is going on across America right now. And, if one has no clue about the censorship, brave up, buckle up and dare to ask someone who has been censored by the mainstream media, social media giants, government entities (local to national) and one can view the other side of these obvious, but often ignored realities in the present moment. American ideals – those fundamental values rooted in Judeo - Christian ethics and morals are disintegrating because people are can courageous enough to hold onto the truths that our Founding Generation held as striving to build the Land of the Free.
With Independence Day coming up, it might be good to reflect on how dear Freedom was to those who would die for it. Certainly, it would be prudent that in the midst of the Fourth of July festivities this year that citizens would pause to think about the genuine value of freedom, and how much they would want to preserve it for their kids and grandkids, if not for themselves. Our Father in Heaven managed to inspire our Founding Fathers to not only be bold, but to manifest brilliance in their efforts to establish the foundations for a free nation – a nation, conceived in Liberty. However, they were cautious in their endeavors as it was not a sure thing -- many of them referred to it as an experiment. And, so it was. Yet, here we are, so many decades down the road from the fervor and passion of that noble struggle for Freedom.
America is facing another existential trial that is similar in threat to the American Civil War - that determined whether such a nation, or any nation so conceived could long endure as we are reminded of Lincoln’s famous words at Gettysburg. Indeed, the United States is facing an even greater existential threat -- whether such a nation, dedicated to freedom can survive in a world that continues to be oppressed by tyrants of one form or another, on one level or another, in one nation or another. In one sense America has come full circle. “We the People” find ourselves in a similar set of circumstances in which people must decide whether the freedoms that they have inherited are worth protecting, worth fighting for, worth dying for.
The events of the past decades indicate that Americans have been enjoying the fruits of liberty, without proactively keeping vigilance over the precious freedoms they did little to inherit. But, if one considers that something given so freely, may be willingly given away easily. The presence of the Spirit of God watching over America is not guaranteed. If people forget that this nation is a nation formed from strife, with a firm reliance on the rectitude of the bold and brilliant actions of the Founders and upon God’s guidance and assistance, we are a nation that has lost its very reason for existence.
American citizens need to repent for their mental and spiritual laziness in allowing people who have little or no respect for the fundamental ideals, principles and values of the nation, to take control of the “Vineyard.” If the government “of the people, by the people, and for the people, no longer represents the will of the people of faith, we have no one to point fingers at to play the blame game. We need to look into the mirrors of our souls, and brace for the truth.
The LightWing edition today offers a three-pronged set of messages. The first is an abridged passage from the Declaration of Independence, so we could refresh our memories of what it was that the founders truly believed in, rather than the watered down fragments from what others have claimed they believed.
The second message is one I offer from an article I wrote in 2022 after sincere reflection on the path American citizens must take to right the ship that is currently drifting without genuine and loyal leadership from the captain or the crew.
The third is a message we offered in our LightWing Messages in July of 2022, which is also an abridged sermon from Associate Pastor George Kistler in San Jose, California entitled “Under God,”

May we humble yourselves for a majority of Americans are less than reverent and often filled with pride. May we re-orient our EGOs through genuine repentance. May we seek His face in sincerity, to help us in the rectitude of our ways. May we turn away from our wickedness - moving beyond our anxiety, fear and ignorance. May we seek God’s vision in all that we do. May we seek first His Kingdom and righteousness.
Declaration of Independence (partial text)
WHEN in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. We, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political Connection between them and the State of Great-Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. On Independence Day, ‘We the People’ Need to Declare Dependence on God

As Americans celebrate Independence Day this year, true Americans need to consider much more deeply the fruits of Freedom and how the loss of such freedoms would adversely affect them and their loved ones. The freedoms citizens have enjoyed for over two centuries have in the past 70 years (a lifetime) been taken for granted. American citizens have lived from day to day, expecting that the system of government endowed to us as a free people would not expire.
Nevertheless, citizens stand upon the precipice of losing those freedoms that more serious or sincere men and women were willing to fight to preserve.
For all the people in the United States who see the signs, the proverbial “handwriting on the wall,” it may be hard to digest, but for those without eyes to see, ignorance is bliss. While it may be understandable that most Americans would not think a Marxist revolution could not occur in the United States, we have just experienced a transformation of our nation in which criminals now run the government, and the ‘leader’ and his family have economic ties to enemy nations. Americans now witness a “sanitized,” made-for-television type of Marxist revolution on American soil from the coup against our government made to look like a political rejection of an unpopular president to the political witch hunts of patriots who were standing to speak out against a silent coup that was made to look like a legitimate election.
On this Independence Day, Americans have to seriously wonder whether the days of enjoying our freedoms won at great cost are numbered. The nation has come full circle in the past 100 years as we face today a tyrannical regime intent upon limiting our individual freedoms. Can one honestly admit that the inverted logic of the Left and the globalists contains a shred of common sense? The rewards for anarchy, chaos, and lawlessness stands in glaring opposition to those “crimes” alleged against peaceful protesting patriots who are now in prison. Observing the ‘brain -washing’ of millions within our population is literally mind-blowing. So, if mental manipulation is now the new normal, what is the cure?
From the earliest beginning of human history, when the ancient serpent manipulated the mind of Eve, as well as Adam, what would have been God’s children’s solution to reverse their straying from His guidance? From the time of Hebrew history, when the Israelites deviated from following the Ten Commandments, what was outlined by God for His children to solve their circumstances of tribulation due to their straying from His Words? From the time of Christian history, when the Christains leaders and the ‘faithful’ deviated from following Jesus’ Commandments, what had been proclaimed by Jesus for God’s children to reverse their straying from his admonishments to “go and sin no more” in his day? In this time, as our Christian nation, leaders and the ‘faithful,’ have broken their covenant with God, what had been proclaimed by Jesus for God’s children to reverse their straying from his admonishments to “go and sin no more” in his day?
In this time what has been prescribed by the words within the Old and New Testaments for God’s children to reverse their infatuation with that ancient serpent’s propaganda? A truly consistent prescription can be traced all the way back to Solomon when he erected the temple. 2 Chronicles 7:14 provided a simple process of coming back into God’s Grace. Yet, despite the prescription from thousands of years before, people do not prefer to partake of the medicine of repentance and sinning no more. And now America has become a haven of those who make Sodom and Gomorrah look like only a model for what has developed in America. It would be wise for serious Christians or people of faith to re-read Luke 17 or Matthew 11.
While in the mood for reading, serious American citizens, who want to keep our Constitutional Republic, need to re-read the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Nevertheless, secular humanists, God-denying atheists, and many lost souls truly cannot believe in the basic or fundamental premises of the Declaration of Independence, if they do not believe in God. The Declaration is essentially the nation’s covenant with God, as the nation was conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all people were created equal under God. So, we are now a divided States of America. Some believe in God and will strive to protect our God-given rights. Others do not believe in God and have accepted that their ‘rights’ come from government and have become dependent upon government.
The United States of America is at a crossroads - facing an existential crisis. No one in the God- denying realms of government, no matter how much they outwardly profess faith, will truly fight to keep the Republic because the fundamental foundation of our Constitutional Republic is the acceptance of citizens’ God-given rights. It is safe to ascertain that there was no expiration date for those God-given, inalienable rights. Inalienable means inseparable from such rights, unless God’s children willingly give them up. Our hold on to the self-evident truths has diminished, but the God-given rights have not expired. Citizens who love Independence, love the freedoms we have neglected to protect, need to form a new covenant with our Father in Heaven. On the day of reflecting upon our Independence, we certainly need to repent, but to also reassert our hold on self-evident truths, and to reaffirm our dependence upon God, and to declare we will not surrender the rights God gave to His children.
“UNDER GOD”

“...one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
These words from our pledge of allegiance are deeply ingrained in our nation’s culture and to a great extent our value system even today. However, the words “under God” weren’t a part of the pledge until 1954. “In God We Trust”, our national motto, wasn’t established until 1957. What brought about these fairly recent developments, and what was the role of God and religion in our Nation’s identity prior to that time?
Within the Church, there is a widening disagreement regarding the Biblical role of Christians and Christianity in the fabric of our culture, and the amount of influence these should have upon public policy. One side decries the evils of “Christian Nationalism,” as patriotic Christians participate in what is viewed to be secular and worldly “politics.” Another side disdains the “wokeness” among churches who promote “equality” and “social justice” ideologies and movements, accusing them of unwittingly... or intentionally... inviting socialism and deconstructionism into our pews.
Within the church, where believers all profess to have a Biblical worldview, there is a great divide regarding the role of the Church in our Nation. We may all be “under God”...but we are hardly “indivisible.”
Were we ever truly a Christian Nation?
Can we still claim to be so?
How does God feel about our Nation? What were his original plans for it? Have they been accomplished? Does He have a future for us?
Is it right for Christians to be patriotic?
What is Christian Nationalism? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
What role is God calling His people, the Christian Church, to play in our Nation and its future?
What is God calling you to do?
