Life by the Spirit
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:13-26 (NIV)
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (BSB)
Just an FYI for our readers who are receiving this posting: the last edition of the LightWing Messages that reached all of our readers was September 10th. Our Substack account seems to have been hijacked by someone or some group. We are aware through our efforts to create a fix that the issue seems to be more complicated than imagined initially. So, only ¼ of our readers have been receiving our messages since that time. Consider yourself blessed if you are one of them. It often does seem that if it is not one thing it is another that blocks us from sharing these messages on a consistent and regular basis.
Note: As of this posting, we seem to have been able to restore our account. We apologize to our readers for the glitch, and we thank you for your patience with technology in such a time.
Lasr week we featured an article I offered entitled: “The Spirit Required to Revive the Republic.” It was not just about the spirit to revive the Republic, but also about the spirit needed to revive the Christian faith in many of the overly comfortable, self-identifying Christians in America who do not truly understand the depths of what Jesus taught – and even more the spirit needed to revive the practice of practicing Jesus’ requests of his followers. Christianity has drifted away from the central points of what Jesus taught, and it has become acceptable for contemporary Christians to water down or to pick and choose the words of Jesus they choose to practice. And, if there are those who self-identify as Christians, but who completely ignore Jesus’ words, they honestly have no business calling themselves something they are not. Such people need to look into the “mirrors of their souls” and see who it is that is looking back at them.
As I mentioned in the article: “The concept of willingness to sacrifice for the sake of others is a Christian concept, and it was secured in the annals of human history by Jesus of Nazareth. He explained that there was no greater gift that anyone could give but that which one could offer through laying down one’s life for their friends.” America witnessed this “concept” put into action, into practice, on September 11, 2001, by those brave Americans who risked their lives for others they didn’t even know. This “concept” is in the spiritual DNA of Americans.
This spirit enabled brave souls to lay down their lives for others in faraway places, that could allow for the spread and the growth of freedom to many places in the world where tyranny had traditionally reigned. That spirit of the willingness to sacrifice for the sake of others needs to be revived within America. It is the foundation for self-governance. It is the foundation for reviving the Republic. It is the foundation for the rebirth of Freedom. This is the key for the goodness of government.
Our first message today is from Stephanie Mann and is entitled: “The Magic of the Human Spirit.” She has just released her latest book which is a further exposition of this theme in her new book aimed at young people due to the attack upon America’s youth. Ms. Mann has offered to come on our Wednesday Zoom call to be interviewed about her new book. Please join us.
Our second featured message today is from A. Dru Kristenev and is entitled: “Layers of intent, Paul’s “bondage” has multiple applications.” Kristenev, who normally writes politically-oriented articles for the Canada Free Press, is capable of shifting into more spiritual territory because she has a spiritual ministry (ChangingWind, a Christian Ministry). For those who may be more interested, one of her lesser known books explores this more deeply. It is entitled: Scripture Led Politics.
We ask readers to please be patient in our struggles to keep the lines of communication open as we are trying to avoid delivery headaches. Now that we have seemingly restored our Citizen Voice Substack platform, we again ask that those who seek to get access to communications channels we offer, switch over to our Substack platform to avoid delivery headaches in the future: Citizen Voice on Substack.
Our Zoom discussion last Wednesday was lively and more fully focused on the topic of the spirit required to preserve our nation. The Zoom calls continue to be offered each Wednesday at 5pm PDT (6pm MDT; 7pm CDT; and 8pm EDT). This coming Wednesday, we offer another focused session with an interview with Ms. Stephanie Mann, a well published author of several books, and we will explore her new book, Magical You that has just been released a few weeks ago. She has joined our Zoom call in the past and agreed to join us again this coming week.
Readers can partake in this upcoming Zoom call on Wednesday and participate (or just listen) in our discussion, by please reaching out. Readers who are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call are asked to please send an email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com

And we always hope readers would consider the messages in this edition meaningful, or relevant in some way, and if readers know others who might value these messages too, please help by passing this newsletter on to those whom you feel would welcome it. Or simply, please receive it yourselves.
These words are being freely offered to you – intended to shine light unto our paths, as written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless America!
May we, who are called by His name, diminish our EGOs, and humble ourselves, and truly repent for our transgressions against one another (even those of the least among us) and make a conscious U-turn from wickedness - even if that may mean turning away from our failure to do what Jesus was requesting of those who claim salvation under his name. Let us practice authentic faith - seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness.
THE MAGIC OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT
By Stephanie Mann
God designed the human body and soul to keep us safe and healthy. Unfortunately, most people these days don’t believe in or seek the power of the inner spirit. Instead, we desire instant solutions. We look for doctors to cure us, police to protect us, public teachers to raise our children, and the government to help pay our bills. No doubt, politicians have distracted us from God’s plan for our lives.
Without insight, it is easy to look to famous people for guidance. But unfortunately, politicians, movie stars, TV personalities, rappers, and the internet can lead impressionable minds to self-destructive behavior, including sex, drugs, and violence.
I grew up in a broken home with an alcoholic father who abused my brother. After my parents’ divorce, my mother and her boyfriend abandoned me in Mexico City at age 15. I didn’t even speak Spanish. That experience almost killed me. Lacking any help, I turned to God and survived. My life’s mission changed.
Years later, as a young mother, I got involved in my community with 16,500 residents and discovered we had a crime wave. A small, devoted group of citizens worked together to address the issue of crime. As a result, we got neighbors to take responsibility for their own neighborhood safety, and crime reduced by 50% within two and a half years without a local police department. This accomplishment opened many doors to work with police and citizen groups. During this time, I began to understand the power of involved people to uplift families, neighborhoods, and communities. It became apparent that big government was moving in the wrong direction.
Big government overreach ignores strengthening American families and neighborhoods to address root causes.
Government employees take children out of homes and put them in foster care or a group home. I witnessed children given four to six drugs a day to calm them. One 16-year-old told me, “I am so foggy I can’t think straight.” Another child said a caseworker sexually abused her.
Public schools are bypassing parents and teaching sex education to young children. We must promote involving families to protect children.
I worked with the homeless in San Francisco and witnessed the government passing out needles and money to drug addicts. We started support groups, and men got jobs.
A police officer once pushed me into a wall. Why? Because I was helping low-income residents take charge of their homes and neighborhood safety.
The government has warehoused low-income families in high-rise buildings for decades. As a result, parents couldn’t monitor their children’s safety. Without parental supervision, drugs, child abuse, gangs, and sex trafficking became commonplace in many low-income settings.
The government intentionally allowed over two million illegals to enter the United States in 2021. With no monitoring, fentanyl and other drugs are flooding America. As a result, over 100,000 Americans died in 2021.
Crime in our major cities is up 30%. This crime figure is twenty times worse than in the 1960s when families worshiped together.
We live at a time when the government has deprived people, especially children, of the magic and blessings of life! It’s time for concerned Americans to speak up and take back our God-given values. Let’s get back to “In God We Trust” to keep families safe. “Ask, and you shall receive!” John 16:24.
Everyone has the power to experience the magic of the human spirit, which can keep you, your family, and your community safe and healthy.

Layers of intent, Paul’s “bondage” has multiple applications
By A. Dru Kristenev ——Bio and Archives--September 27, 2023
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (KJV)
In the freedom, then, with which Christ did make you free -- stand ye, and be not held fast again by a yoke of servitude; (YLT)
Apostle Paul was directly correlating “the yoke of bondage” or “servitude” to being compelled by legalism to take on the outward signs of piety by making physical changes to one’s body. He was talking about circumcision.
Liberty through Christ is again under scrutiny and virtually outlawed by a tyrannical regime
There was a deeper understanding that he was getting across through this and other verses in his missives – that of what true liberty in Christ looks like. Cutting away a portion of one’s body was not it. It was a vehicle of control. Galatians 6:13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. (KJV)
What was a sign of compliance with traditions demanded by the law delivered by Moses had become a sign of enslavement, a limitation of personal freedom that, although deeply private, could be used against an individual by religious oppressors. Spying on men in their most intimate moments, exaggerated reports of noncompliance were used to implicate and arrest “ringleaders” like Paul, which led to his eventual beheading in Rome by Nero.
Arguably, nothing much has changed. Liberty through Christ 1 is again (as has occurred many times over the last two millennia) under scrutiny and virtually outlawed by a tyrannical regime. If someone isn’t willing to flaunt the cutting of their bodies (as occurred on the White House lawn last spring), or publicly agree and concede to State doctrine, however perverse or debased, they are proclaimed enemies or terrorists. The same was true for the followers of Jesus, known at the time as “The Way.”
But what was it “The Way” to? It was the path to freedom of faith, of peace, of grace, of salvation, of forgiveness, which could not be attained by working with all one’s might to follow each and every ordinance devised by men.
The self-righteous that are seated in government, dictating adherence to their pagan religion of non-binary sexes and climate change, are the modern persecutors of free-thinkers
It was expected that keeping the laws of personal conduct were the ticket to avoid harassment by the religious hierarchy, included with that were crimes of thought and speech. Should anyone express an opinion differing from the additional traditions tacked onto the Law, they were subject to vilification, incarceration, and, ultimately, death.
The self-righteous that are seated in government, dictating adherence to their pagan religion of non-binary sexes and climate change, are the modern persecutors of free-thinkers. It doesn’t stop there. The “yoke” is also one of financial shackles, restricting individuals from using the fruits of their labor to benefit themselves and their families to the point of theft via debanking, inflation and taxation. It is the destruction of the national (and by connection, global) economic infrastructure in order to enslave everyone other than government administrators, officeholders, and the fabulously wealthy, self-empowered rulemakers.
In Paul’s time, the “bondage” was all inclusive as it is now. In the pagan societies where he preached, every method of submission was exploited. Individuals were forced to conform using economic pressure – cutting them off from gainful employment, the ability to sell or buy, or protect possessions from plundering government and outlaws; social pressure – isolating, defaming, and denouncing them; and political pressure – censuring and imprisoning them for not following “approved” ideology.
Scripture is as relevant today as it ever was in describing the evils of despotism and how it is imposed on populations through fear of dissenting with those currently wielding power, whether religious tyrants or secular thieves.
In every case, it takes a few believers to stand for the Lord and not be fainthearted, but be willing to act by faith
Note that where the Bible warns of oppression, it also foretells how evil is perpetrated and its ultimate demise. This is just an example:
Proverbs 29:4,12,16 – The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it… If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked… When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. (KJV)
God has ever been an advocate for freedom and salvation, relegating evildoers to their just ends has been witnessed from the Flood, to the Exodus, and to Jesus’ final sacrifice on the Cross. In every case, it takes a few believers to stand for the Lord and not be fainthearted, but be willing to act by faith.
We need that now. There can be no hiding from evil by ignoring it, thinking God will intervene without believers’ active engagement. Each rescue came through the faithfuls’ obedient action, not passivity. Inaction will ensure evil a win. Short-lived though such a win may be, increasing hardship, suffering and death will ensue if we do nothing.2
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (NKJV)
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (NKJV)
Continuing Resolution which will keep funding the egregious, unconstitutional Biden agenda that’s destroying our economy, impoverishing Americans, relocating and financing the four million+ illegals he’s welcomed into the country, and tying $24 billion more to Ukraine with only millions to the displaced residents, business and home owners in Maui. Then call your senators. 202-225-3121, 202-224-3121
