Wars And Rumors of War: Setting The Record Straight
Dispute Over Whose Children Jesus’ Opponents Are
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.”
“Abraham is our father,” they answered.
“If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would do what Abraham did. As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. You are doing the works of your own father.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” John 8:31-47 (NIV)
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
The outbreak of war in Israel has astounded and sickened millions of people around the world, not just those being directly affected by the unfolding tragedy in the Middle East. The brutal and premeditated murder of innocent babies, children, and women in Israel is hard to comprehend for those of us in the West, who are figuratively lightyears away from the horrors of the recent “man-made” disaster. Hopes for a more peaceful region generated by serious dialogue between diplomats from Israel and Sudi Arabia were essentially shattered since the Hamas’ attack upon Israel. The public mobilization of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli, anti-American protests was not entirely spontaneous. One wonders where those who were concerned with the anti-Semitic hate are this week. One wonders where the ones who are so vocally against hatred are this week. In short, it can be estimated that the public protest “flavor of the month” has changed, regardless whether it contradicts the point of protest a month ago. Mindless minions and activists just follow the orders that trickle down through the grapevine from the shadowy figures in the core of evil.
The LightWing Messages this Sunday attempts to provide more sense of seemingly senseless acts of grisly murders of innocent people. Many people are still seeking genuine understanding of the horrifically shocking tragedy, which is now only escalating as this edition comes together.
As the tragedy unfolds further and more information becomes known, it will only become more and more controversial and the clouds of time will roll in to make it less clear. To bring clarity of some sort in this moment, this edition will offer two feature articles as well as a number of news reports and perspectives about the attacks on Israel in our aggregate section.
Our first featured message today I offer for readers consideration. Last week one of the featured messages was from Kevin McGary titled, “If I Were the Devil.” It represented Mr. McGary’s take on Paul Harvey’s old radio monologue with the same title. The message I offer is unrelated as it examines truth vs. lies and attempts to paint murder as noble. However, the title is: “The devil has his say…”
Our second featured message today is from Mr. Ray Di Lorenzo and is focused on these horrific events in the Middle East and is titled: “Wars And Rumors of War: Setting The Record Straight.” He offers a bit of history for readers who would appreciate a deeper perspective than mainly the surface events that are in the contemporary stream of news and views.
Our Zoom interview last Wednesday with Mrs. Judy Palmer went very well, according to those who could participate. She gave a bit of the back story of her book, Hope in Hard Times. This coming Wednesday, we offer another focused session on the message offered today.
Readers can partake in this upcoming Zoom call on Wednesday and participate (or just listen) in our discussion, by please reaching out. Readers who are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call are asked to please send an email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com

We hope our readers enjoy this edition of the LightWing Messages today as well as the limited aggregated messages. Read, absorb and share, and practice what is within you. And we always hope readers would consider the messages in this edition meaningful, or relevant in some way, and if readers know others who might value these messages too, please help by passing this newsletter on to those whom you feel would welcome it. Or simply, please receive it yourselves.
We also ask readers to please be patient in our struggles to keep the lines of communication open as we are trying to avoid delivery headaches. Now that we have seemingly restored our Citizen Voice Substack platform, we again ask that those who seek to get access to communications channels we offer, switch over to our Substack platform to avoid delivery headaches in the future: Citizen Voice on Substack
These words are being freely offered to you – intended to shine light unto our paths, as written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless America!
May we, who are called by His name, humble ourselves, and come before our Heavenly Father to sincerely seek His Face – to honestly seek to know Him more deeply and resist deceptions and lies that are intended to multiply evil in our hearts or within our midst. We repent for our lack of love for you or for our fellow human beings - even for those agents of evil who manifest hate and destruction. Yet, may we truly welcome your justice.
The devil has his say…
By Dennis Jamison
10/15/23
Satan has had an ongoing war on God’s children from the very beginning of human history, and one cannot assume that this onslaught is diminishing, especially by the evidence in the world as we witness in our time. Jesus had his own confrontation with the devil in his period of 40 days in the wilderness. He not only confronted him directly, but taught those who consider themselves his disciples how to stand up against Satan. He also confronted those whom he considered the sons of Satan:
I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:43-44 (NIV)
In our time, good people have to confront the evil in their midst, and confront means to deal with what has come before them, whether in one’s own self, one’s family, or in the outer society and world. This truth holds for the recent attacks upon the nation of Israel. The images of atrocities committed during the invasion of Israel by Hamas terrorists are hard to suppress; yet they are screaming to all people of the world. The attacks upon innocent babies, children, and women was murder. And, murder is murder, no matter how twisted a narrative one wants to attach to it. Those who try to claim that this was an act of faith by followers of Allah are liars. It is doubtful that there is any truth within them.
These attacks upon innocent people had been in the planning stages for at least two years, so it equals premeditated murder. The attacks were carried out by men, but they were indeed agents of evil – children of Satan. These actions are the evidence of fruit originating from the roots of evil. Those who are unclear whether this was an act of brutal terrorism are either hopelessly stupid, very ignorant, without any shred of conscience, or are complicit with such treachery – belonging to their father, the devil. It is indeed sad to say that there are also plenty of images of such evil people showing their true colors after the murders of innocents were committed. The cheering came from people of hate – who have been taught to hate (likely since childhood).
Unfortunately, there exists an attempt being made to corrupt the concepts of hatred or barbarity and equate them with a noble cause – such as a “freedom fighter.” This was initiated by Osama Bin Laden and his sycophants in the aftermath of 9/11. The attempt is being continued today by those moguls of mainstream media who have given the direction to their paid parrots to not refer to Hamas as a terrorist organization, or to the murderous terrorists as terrorists. This leads to the rather simplistic perception, then, that “terrorism is in the eye of the beholder.” One man’s notion of horrific terror is another man’s concept of honorable justice. One man’s concept of murder, is another’s justifiable sacrifice. It is just an extension of self-centered labeling of reality.
These Hamas attacks have been seen as “Israel’s 9/11” by many, but especially by Mr. Gilad Erdan, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations. And after multiple attacks on 9/11, spokesmen for Al Qaeda or bin Laden, although initially denying involvement, they later crowed over their “victory.” When bin Laden faced the direct questions about his involvement, he was quoted as saying:
I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children, and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children, and other people.
Yet, even though Osama bin Laden denied he had anything to do with the acts of war upon the U.S., eventually suspicions were confirmed after intelligence agencies concluded that Al-Qaida operatives were responsible for the attacks. President George Bush took the intelligence reports before Congress in order to link Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden to the 9/11 attacks. It was only after this that Osama bin Laden came out of the closet and admitted involvement in the tragedy. He praised the airline hijackers as freedom fighters exhibiting “defiant spirits” in a fight against an evil oppressive empire. When he had been shown video clips of the horrific attacks, he reportedly remarked that the acts of terror were “spectacular.”
And while it is not entirely clear whether bin Laden was a genuinely religious man, it is clear that he used the religion of his people to obtain his sinister objectives to send many innocent people to their deaths. Looking more closely at bin Laden’s “religious” values, someone questioned how he could claim to be a “good Muslim” in light of the obvious contradiction of what he previously said about his adherence to Islam and no involvement with “the killing of innocent women, children, and other people.” At that point, he simply confessed that he was not a good Muslim. Yet, that didn’t stop him from preaching to the American people in his “Letter to the American People”: “rather than ruling by the Shariah of Allah… You separate religion from your policies, contradicting the pure nature which affirms Absolute Authority to the Lord and your Creator.”
Whether bin Laden was a genuinely religious man or not can be clarified by using a common measurement of religious faith to all three major religions of the Middle East and that would be the Ten Commandments. It would seem that most religious leaders from any of the three major religions, who urge sincere obedience to the Ten Commandments, would agree that they need to be obeyed. Commandment # 6 states unequivocally that “Thou shall not murder.” Thus, any militant “Muslim” who is using religion as a cloak to commit murder, cannot be truly viewed as religious, as a freedom fighter, or even a decent human being. Even worse, such militants are committing murder in the name of Allah. Such murderous acts of the militants also defile the name of Allah, or God, as well as Islam.
By Jesus’ own perceptions, these militant “Muslims” should be considered children of Satan. An organization or nation state authorizing such attacks like those against Israel originate from the same root. The charter of Hamas designates their purpose as to carry out the annihilation of the Jewish people. It is the modern day revival of the goal of Haman in the days of Esther. These recent attacks on Israel have committed such horrors not in the name of Satan, but un the name of Allah. Such a clever and deceptive disguise. The agents of Satan kill God’s children and the blame is pinned onto the genuine Muslims. It is a double win for Satan. It reveals that Osama bin Laden was a true operative of Satan and was clever enough to convince confused or other malleable people to commit murder in the name of Jihad.
While people can claim adherence to a particular religion, if they obviously operate outside of the boundaries of genuinely held religious beliefs, those who witness such behavior should not accept such claims as authentic or legitimate. Religious zealots can do many things in the name of a particular religion, or by invoking the name of God, but just by common standards of human decency, those actions which break the fundamental foundations of the religion should generate great clarity about the fruit being brought forth. Finally, one needs to consider justice for such evil actions, especially when the actions are being committed in the name of God. One should seriously consider the perspective that God may have in light of such evil being done in His name. A good measurement is Jesus’ simple perspective:
By their fruits you will know them,”You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:16-19
So, how do we all, as a world community, see the end of the Middle East conflict when the Palestinian Charter calls for the eradication of Israel through armed struggle and the mobilization of Arabs?
Wars And Rumors of War: Setting The Record Straight
By Ray DiLorenzo ——Bio and Archives--October 15, 2023
"For those who believe no explanation is necessary; for those who do not believe, no explanation will suffice."--Joseph Dunninger
There is much disinformation, misinformation, and outright lies going around about the conflict in the Middle East—who took whose land, who the aggressor is, and why the hatred? Much of this ignorance comes from the universities and the media. A short history is warranted to set the record straight.
Land of the Philistines." This name was chosen by Rome as an insult, naming Israel after the old enemy of Israel—the Philistines
For those who are familiar with Scripture, it will be easier to understand. For those who do not understand or believe, it will be difficult at best. I will speak about Scripture because it is so central to what the Middle East crisis is all about. For lack of a legitimate reason for the Arabs' hatred, one can only turn to the Book of Genesis and Isaiah for an answer. It is a spiritual answer where all truth can be found.
It is no mystery that thousands of years ago, the Jewish people occupied a small region in the Middle East known as Canaan (remember Moses?), then named Israel, a land given to them by God Himself (1250 BC). I could add Judah to the list, but that would involve getting into a Jewish family argument...oy vey!
The land was taken away from the Jewish people by the Romans in 70 AD, during the Siege of Jerusalem. The Romans renamed Israel (or Judah) Palestine. Palestine, from the Greek Palaistinē from the Hebrew Pelesheth, "Philistia, land of the Philistines." This name was chosen by Rome as an insult, naming Israel after the old enemy of Israel—the Philistines.
Mark Twain: I would not desire to live here. It is a hopeless, dreary, heartbroken land
Since the Jewish diaspora (dispersal), Israel, or Palestine, has been occupied by both Arabs and Jews. By the 19th century, less than 100,000 people lived in Israel (or Palestine), a third of them Jews. The land was desolate and abandoned for over 1,000 years. It was part of the Ottoman Empire, but that is about all you could say. Mark Twain visited the Holy Land in 1867. His comments:
"A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life and action."
Another one: "I would not desire to live here. It is a hopeless, dreary, heartbroken land."
On the approach to Jerusalem, “There was hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”
But God said in his Holy Scriptures that the Israelites would return (Isaiah 11:11), that God would gather the children of Israel back to their homeland.
The Ottoman Empire's hold on Palestine was weak. The peril of invasion was ever-present. Napoleon in 1799, Egyptian Muslims in 1832-1840, and the Russians during the Crimean War (1853–1856) had all repeatedly threatened to invade. By 1917, when the British took control of Jerusalem, the Ottoman Empire was all but gone. The Balfour Declaration, issued in 1917 by the British government, promised a homeland for the Jews. It guaranteed a Jewish homeland as well as the civil and religious rights of non-Jewish peoples. Israel has done so.
In 1947, UN Resolution 181 divided the land, making provision to offer the local Arabs their own state called Transjordan, about three times the size of what was to be Israel. The Arabs refused the plan and rejected the formation of a new state of Israel. They now demanded the whole region be given to them.
There was never a Palestinian nation, government, Palestinian economy, currency, or language
Finally, in 1948, Israel became a nation. The British are never in a rush to do anything. Many Arabs live in Israel today, are Israeli citizens, and hold important positions.
Understand, there was never a Palestinian nation—no Palestinian government, no Palestinian economy or currency, no Palestinian language—nothing. There weren't any Palestinian people unless you wanted to include the Jews as well as the nomadic Arabs. In all that time, the so-called Palestinian people never demanded a Palestinian state or self-rule. They had been ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, Muslims, Crusaders, the Ottomans, and then the British.
The new state of Israel took 0.2% (2 tenths of 1%) of the Middle East's land mass, as deserted and desolate as it was. When the Arab world invaded the newly created state, the Arab community was asked to stay and offered Israeli citizenship to help build a nation. Most refused. Instead, the Arab nations offered the Arab refugees refuge and proceeded to invade the newly created state of Israel.
No one ever thought the little nation of Israel was going to win any war with the Arab world. But they did.
When Israel won the war, the Arab nations refused to assimilate the Arab refugees into their countries and then began calling them 'Palestinians.' Israel refused to take them back, as they showed themselves to be enemies. Thus, in essence, the Arab world began using the 'Palestinians' as a political weapon, the useful idiots of the Arab world, a tool to show the world how 'inhumane' Israel is allowing these poor Arabs to wander aimlessly in the desert (my words, but you get the idea). Even now, Egypt has closed its borders, not wanting to take in any Palestinian Arabs. No other Arab country has raised their hands as well. Close brotherhood, huh?
Middle East conflict is only about destroying Israel
Many Palestinians lived in refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and Gaza where the Arab world made them an example of 'Israeli brutality.'
So, the Middle East conflict is not about the land or the dispossession of a 'Palestinian' people. It's not about refugees, apartheid, or a Palestinian state.
It is only about destroying Israel. But why?
Try to follow this 'All In The Family' episode. According to Genesis, God made a covenant with Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation and that his descendants would be more than he could count (Gen.15). Abraham's wife, Sarah, could not give him a child, even though God had promised Abraham many descendants. Thinking she was too old to have children (approx. 75), Sarah chose to give Hagar, her Egyptian servant, to Abraham, believing she could have a family through her in accordance with the custom of the day (Gen. 16:2). Hagar began to treat Sarah with contempt after she conceived. When Sarah complained, Abraham told her to do what she wanted with her. Sarah began to treat Hagar so harshly that she ran away into the desert (Gen. 16:6).
Hagar fled to the wilderness, where God spoke to her about her child:
"...you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." Genesis 16:11-12
As commanded by God, Hagar went back to Sarah and bore a son, Ishmael. Fourteen years later, God fulfilled his promise to Abraham, and Sarah (about 90 years old) did give birth to a son, Isaac.
Golda Meir: "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us."
One day, Sarah saw Ishmael mocking the much younger Isaac and demanded that Abraham send the slave girl and her son away and then declare Isaac as his sole heir. Abraham did not want to do it but relented when God told him to do what she said. God had previously chosen to make His covenant with Abraham and He honored it.
Anyone can see that this prophecy has come to pass. Arab nations have fought each other and everyone else. They rely on violence and aggression to subdue their enemies including each other. Their hand is against everyone. The children of Hamas and other Muslim groups are taught from an early age to hate the Jews. They are taught as young as 3 to kill Jews and Zionists—those who support a Jewish state—to shoot them and cut their heads off.
Golda Meir, the fourth prime minister of Israel, said it so well..."Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us." The Arabs have become notorious for hiding behind children, using them as shields. As I write this, Israel is asking all non-combatants in Gaza to leave, while Hamas is telling its citizens to stay, knowing that Israeli troops are on the way. When women and children are killed, they mourn in front of the cameras to show the world the evil of the Israelis. Their mission in life is to kill Jews and Christians, and they call Israel an apartheid state.
Their constant call of Allahu Akbar is meant to be confrontational. Almost everyone who has heard it believes it means God is great. It does not. It means Allah is greater.
So, how do we all, as a world community, see the end of the Middle East conflict when the Palestinian Charter calls for the eradication of Israel through armed struggle and the mobilization of Arabs? Please let me know; I'll submit the plan and put your name in for the Nobel Peace Prize and commission a statue, or would a bust be sufficient?
