The Little Children and Jesus
People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)
Blessing the Children
Then children were brought to Him so He might put His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them. Then Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.” After putting His hands on them, He went on from there. Matthew 19:13-15 (NIV)
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
Causing to Stumble
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.” Matthew 18:1-9 (NIV)
Note: As of last Sunday’s posting, we had been able to restore our Substack account. We apologize to our readers for the glitch, and thank you for your patience in this interlude.
Last week, looking back to this time, seemed relatively much more peaceful than we can claim today. We acknowledge that this is a very difficult time in our nation, but now with the outbreak of war in Israel and across the Middle East, it is a very difficult time for the world. The hopes of peace in recent months in the Middle East have been shattered with Hamas’ recent attack on Israel. There are several reactions to this “man-made” tragedy, including a mobilization of pro- Palestinian, anti-American protests and apparently the deployment of U.S. warships to the region. To address this escalation of evil in the world, the LightWing Messages is attempting to provide some understanding of this shocking tragedy, which has been compared to Israel’s 9/11.
This Sunday’s edition was not prepared to focus upon such tragic and horrific events, and our intent was to send out an edition with different primary messaging. However, in light of the evil erupting in the Middle East, we are offering a lead article spotlighting how evil is also destroying our nation as well as how God is working within such turbulent circumstances. We have entered a number of reports on the attack upon Israel in the aggregate section, for those who would like to know more about the tragedy.
Our first featured message today is from Kevin McGary and is entitled: “If I Were the Devil.” It is Mr. McGary’s take on Paul Harvey’s old radio monologue with the same title. If one is able to carefully read his article, it is clear that much of what that the Devil has been doing lines up with the evil slowly rotting away our own nation. We have offered an updated version of Mr. Harvey’s entire monologue as a video version, so our readers can access the entire monologue. It is very eerie, and it is hope to help awaken Americans who are still sleeping. Help us awaken them by forwarding this edition to the ones you believe could benefit from this type of Paul Revere effort.
Our second featured message today is from Mrs. Judy Dunn Palmer, and it had been planned as Judy Palmer has agreed to an interview about her book on this Wednesday’s Zoom call. We are doing something unusual in this edition, which we have not attempted before. We have put together some excerpts from Mrs. Palmer’s book, “Hope in Hard Times.” It was a serious editing job that she may or may not appreciate since she is an accomplished editor. In fact, Judy Pamer was one of the first editors of our Citizen Sentinels Network. She offers readers a glimpse of her life. The intent of offering the excerpts, primarily dialogue, was to give enough of a taste of her book that people would want to know “the rest of the story” that Paul Harvey made famous.
Our Zoom interview last Wednesday with Ms. Stephanie Mann, went beyond exploring her new book, Magical You that has just been released. This coming Wednesday, we offer another focused session with an interview with Mrs. Judy Palmer, a newly published author who just published her first book not long ago. She offers some transparency into her life and her very personal experience with debilitating disease, entitled, Hope in Hard Times. We welcome her back, as she has agreed to join us again this coming week.
Readers can partake in this upcoming Zoom call on Wednesday and participate (or just listen) in our discussion, by please reaching out. Readers who are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call are asked to please send an email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com

We hope our readers enjoy this edition of the LightWing Messages today as well as the limited aggregated messages. Read, absorb and share, and practice what is within you. And we always hope readers would consider the messages in this edition meaningful, or relevant in some way, and if readers know others who might value these messages too, please help by passing this newsletter on to those whom you feel would welcome it. Or simply, please receive it yourselves.
We also ask readers to please be patient in our struggles to keep the lines of communication open as we are trying to avoid delivery headaches. Now that we have seemingly restored our Citizen Voice Substack platform, we again ask that those who seek to get access to communications channels we offer, switch over to our Substack platform to avoid delivery headaches in the future: Citizen Voice on Substack
These words are being freely offered to you – intended to shine light unto our paths, as written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless America!
May we, who are called by His name, humble ourselves, diminish our EGOs, and come before our Heavenly Father to truly seek His Face – to seek to know Him more deeply and to resist the deceptions and lies that tend to manufacture or multiply evil in our hearts or in our midst. May we receive His forgiveness for our lack of knowing Him more deeply, or our failure to do practice what Jesus was requesting of those who call him savior.
If I were the devil …
By Kevin McGary
Satan's ongoing schemes make clear why and how he is strategically and aggressively targeting our children. Going "woke" and staying silent while they are infected and destroyed by demonic schemes means we are snubbing God's warning.
An all-time favorite broadcast of mine is Paul Harvey's "If I were the Devil" (broadcast 1965). At the time, Mr. Harvey's punchy, dark soliloquy was considered a hyperbolic dystopian fantasy about the future condition of America; some dismissed it as Mr. Harvey being a provocateur and great "humorist."
Times have certainly changed. What was dismissed as dystopian humor at the time has now turned into accurate prophecy! Viewing the trends and events in today's America, we can confirm either Mr. Harvey was prescient – or he was keenly aware and sensitive to the wiles of the devil.
The schemes of the devil never cease. Since we know his overarching evil motivations are to kill, steal and destroy, we should spot and call out what he is doing in this present age. Fundamentally, we see he is not only releasing unfathomable demonism and chaos, but he is also aggressively targeting his evil schemes and chaos toward one strategic segment: our children!
Taking Paul Harvey's tack toward visualizing current schemes targeting children, consider:
If I were the devil, I'd make sure to deprive children of any innocence as early as possible by exposing them to sex and perversions via educational systems (school/classroom teaching), indeed encouraging children to engage in sexual "experimentation" and vulnerability to perversions that will last their lifetime!
If I were the devil, I would confuse children about their God-given biological sex, by affirmatively teaching children gender is a personal "choice" (as opposed to God ordained) with over 100+ gender "choices," to foment their confusion and rebellion against God's natural order and nature.
If I were the devil, I would further confuse children about race/racism; I would use CRT and other schemes to instill guilt and shame so they ultimately reject the "all men created equal" vision, and instead become self-loathing and "guilted" into believing they are cursed (if they're white) and victimized and oppressed (if they are black). Children will learn to accept or reject themselves and others based on skin color alone! "Ha … Masterful!" Satan would exult.
If I were the devil, I would seduce teachers and parents into become "woke" allies who embrace and promote a new revolutionary order designed to pressure them into all of the schemes against their children (including early "advanced" sex education, sexual experimentation, "gender-bending," and guilting and shaming via CRT/racism "sensitivity" based solely on skin color). With parent's complicity deceived, the children will be locked into a new life filled with confusion, vulnerabilities, chaos, aggression, and a lack of trust in God. That's my ultimate goal, after all, and I – the devil – am already reaping a bountiful harvest within this rising generation …. Ha!
The above bullets in the devil's arsenal highlight only a few demonic schemes currently targeted at our children. They make clear why and how he has strategically targeted the young and most innocent among us. These examples reflect worldwide trends; they are not extreme, or exaggerations but are currently happening and accelerating! This is the current trend, and it is not decreasing. What may not be apparent is why the demonic realm seems so intensely focused on children. This answer is: Satan's goal is to groom and unleash a "God-resistant" generation.
Think about it. The earlier children come to know and experiment with sex, the more opportunity for pornography, sex exploitation, sex confusion, and any manner of entrenched addictions to take root. Addictions make it more difficult to submit to (or even believe in) a loving God. Likewise, if children come to think they or their friends are "trapped" in the wrong body, this automatically infers that God makes "mistakes." When you think God is not perfect and "all-knowing" but instead makes many mistakes by relegating many to the "wrong body," it's easy to decide God doesn't deserve love, respect, or to be obeyed.
Matt 18:6 reminds us: "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." We are in a time and season that God is looking for remnant warriors to stand firm against the wiles of our enemy. Going "woke" and staying silent while our children are infected and destroyed by demonic schemes means we are snubbing God's warning – and He will hold us fully accountable.

Hope in Hard Times (excerpts from her life)
By Judy Dunn Palmer
If you've ever felt down and out, you'll relate to this book, Hope in Hard Times. One morning,
Judy Dunn Palmer woke up and couldn't brush her teeth. Her right hand was frozen in the shape of the letter "C". She received a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis, but despite having one of the best doctors in the area and one of the best medicines, nothing worked. Her hand remained frozen. In fact, it stayed that way for two years. This is God's story of how He took this broken-down woman, wrapped His arms around her and straightened her fingers. This is an inspirational story of healing that will encourage and comfort many readers.
The Neurosurgeon (Chapter 9 - not long ago)
“How did it go with the neurosurgeon yesterday?” Patty asked.
“The surgeon’s office decor was stark: black, white, and tan. Kind of nice, but it screeched for a splash of cranberry or mango orange – any kind of excitement. The doctor was much like his office – okay, but…”
“Patty, how’s that for a kettle of fish? First, my hands don’t work; now my spine doesn’t either. Even if the doctor’s right, what happened to kindness?”
“Oh, I can relate, thinking of some of my doctors!” Patty moaned, shaking her head.
“Since I can’t operate on you, there’s nothing I can do to help you,” the doctor said as he stood up to escort us out of his office. Patty, I’m so used to disappointments, I was ready to accept this doom and leave, but George stepped forward on my behalf.”
“My wife has disabling pain that is keeping her from living a normal life. Isn’t there something you can give her?”
“Well, since I can’t operate on her, technically, she isn’t one of my patients, the surgeon insisted.
“Doctor, just help her pain. Please.”
“As you know, Patty, George grew up in the ruggedness of New England and he is stoic by nature. Normally, he’d never cross an authority figure, but these times aren’t ‘normal’ for either of us. The surgeon wrote a prescription for pain pills – though hesitantly.”
“Isn’t it great to have your husband come to your defense?”
“Sure is. He’s better than I deserve! But guess what? Now Geotge wants me to see another rheumatologist for a second opinion – especially since Dr. Bravo is talking of me taking meds for the rest of my life.”
“That’s logical,” Patty agreed.
“It is.” I squirmed. I just prefer a cure – like right now!”
Patty (Chapter 5 - not long ago)
On another day, I admitted to Patty:
“I get so depressed; I don’t really have any reason to keep going; but, if I don’t keep trying to get better, for sue I’ll never get better. So, I continue trying and praying: ‘God, please help; I’m not ready for a rocking chair… not yet. Remember me.”
Then, I remembered the verse:
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. {1 Corinthians 10;13 - NIV)
“God, I’m not sure I can hang on any longer. Please provide that way out.”
“And?” Patty asked with expectations.
“So far, nada, no relief has come.”
“Oh, that is discouraging.”
Cafe’ at Church (Chapter 15 - not long ago)
An elderly man from the congregation approached me when I was chatting with friends at the church cafe’ area.
“Your hand,” he said.
“Yes?”
“Your hand. The cause of it is sin in your life,” he mumbled, his finger pointing to me as his white hair was shaking with determination.
“What?” I asked, not sure I had heard correctly.
“That’s right. Your sin is causing this illness in your hand.”
“Oh” was all I could say. Having no rebuttal, I left the area.
That was all I needed. I couldn’t do anything normal people did because of the pain I experienced, and now I had to contemplate I was the cause of my own agony! I never expected a downer at church, but here it was. Now what was I to do with it?
I didn’t feel I had unconfessed sin in my life. Still, a little voice encouraged me to pray. After all, the first step to hearing answered prayer is a clean heart.
“God, I don’t feel I have sin in my life now. But, if I do have that I’m not aware of, I’m sorry for it and do ask your forgiveness.” I never regretted humbling myself and asking for forgiveness.
Any Crumb, Please (Chapter 16 - not long ago)
Since I had contracted this disease, the weeks had grown into months and then into seasons. Despite the best of care and medicine, my cubicle of life closed in on me. I felt guilty demanding an answer for the One who had so many prayers to answer. Yes, I needed Heavenly help. My hope was threadbare and sinking. How much longer could I keep it together?
“I’m begging you, God, please help. I’m desperate. Any crumb of healing, Lord, please!”
1976 (Chapter 18 - literally in that year, while working as a bank secretary)
“Judy,” Mr. Lewis nodded “hello” to me on one particular Saturday as he passed by my desk just outside his glassed-in office. As president of the bank, having constant eyes on the teller line had its advantages.
After handling a few phone calls, I looked up to see Mr. Lewis standing before my desk.
“May I help you?”
“No. but, I think you should take the day off, he said without expression, not indicating his reasoning.
“Really?” He never let me go early before!
“Ya.”
“Okay. Thanks.”
I straightened up a few papers on my desk, reached for my purse, and waved goodbye to Mr. Lewis…
Pushing open the bank doors, I took three steps into the almost empty hallway, away from the shops. This corridor would lead me to the personnel parking – and into the next six years of my life.
Wake Up (Chapter 19 - still in 1976 - a continuation of the previous chapter)
“Judy, wake up, Judy.” My dad elongated his words as his desperation rose. He tapped my cheeks. His soft muffled voice was light years from my recognition. Light years chocked full of puffy gray clouds. If I could have found that voice, I might have recognized it – but I couldn’t.
“Judy, Dad begged for any response,” I can’t lose you. Not this way. Oh God, not now.”
“Huh?” I finally said, “Dad, what are you doing here?”
“I’m going to take you home, he said, kneeling beside me.
“Not to my apartment?” …”What happened?”
“I don’t know Jude, except that you passed out and have been here for quite some time.”
…The next Monday at 10:00 a.m., Mom and DAd carried me to the office of our family doctor, Dr. McGarvey. After tests and a thorough examination, he came back in the room with a serious face.
“Judy, you know the Swine Flu vaccine you had last week?”
“Okay, I faked it, having no memory.
“Well, the vaccine has reacted with your system. Now you have the symptoms of Guillain-Barre.”
Growth (Chapter 27 - a continuation of the previous chapter)
Many people get sick and get well. Then, there was me.
“You just don’t want to get better,” some ‘friends’ accused me. Always the hard worker, I was devastated to hear these words. So, against doctor’s orders, I worked extra hard to prove that I wasn’t lazy. I’d do more in a day than I had the strength for.
“Judy…Judy,” said Brian, one of the long-time residents from the apartments.
“Yes,” I answered, waking to his voice. “What happened?”
“I don’t know. I just found you passed out on the grass.”
“Take me home, please; I’ll get better.”
Brian carried me to my apartment.
“Are you sure you’re okay staying here?”
“I’ll be fine. Thanks for asking.I’ll just sleep and get better.” Thinking to myself, I added, “That’s all they do for me at the hospitals.”
I slept all that day. No surprise there. I couldn’t walk well the next day, so I held on to the walls and made it to the bathroom. After a week or two, I was as good as - whatever ‘normal’ was.
The next time, Dennis found me on the grass passed out, he picked me up and took me to my apartment…
As I paced myself, my body was better able to heal itself. The effects of the immunization I had had in 1976 finally dissipated in 1982. Then, with trepidation and excitement, I headed to the Pennsylvania State University – toward a new profession and a new life. I was ready to start my life over again.
Judy Dunn Palmer grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and learned by example that God and family were most important. She is eternally grateful to her parents for their example. She is pleased to be a servant to the children of God in many different areas, such as in her role as Mom to the five children she and her husband have together. These are children of her heart, not her body. Yet, no children could be more dear to her. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University in Journalism and Medical Anthropology. She was an editor at the Centre Daily Times in State College, PA, and for the Citizens Voice Online Newsletter. Currently, she edits the Truck Stop Newsletter for Faith Road Ministries. She now teaches classes in English, Writing, and Literature both in person and online. She always finds time for writing. She is now working on her second novel titled Adopting As A Single Parent.
