CSN - LightWing Messages - Sunday - 2/5/2023
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
“To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”?
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:21 - 31 (NIV)
As a follow-up from last week’s message linking to Dr. Owen’s message on faith, the message this Sunday is somewhat personal – it is an overview of my coming to recognize the existence of God, but also to get to a point in which my life of faith is a daily lifestyle of continually living in the presence of Heavenly Father. And since this Sunday’s message is from me (and it is a long one), readers do not need to have an ‘overdose’ of my words.
Yet, there is one correction that should be mentioned pertaining to last week’s Founder’s Message and that is simple to deal with: Last week it was stated that there was a “poem” from
Apostle Tim Taylor, and it was not a poem. I cannot explain where the word “poem” came from as it was written, nor how it escaped the editing. But it obviously was not a poem as readers may have noticed. Sorry for the minot deception. It was unintended.
As always, we hope our readers would consider all the messages in this edition relevant or meaningful, and if readers know others who might value the messages as well, please consider becoming one of our official LightWing messengers and please pass this newsletter on to those whom you feel would welcome it. Or simply, please receive it yourselves.
We also acknowledge that our LightWing Messages are now moving forward as discussed in our previous editions. Our Zoom calls are held each Wednesday evening. We leave it up to our readers; if you would like to discuss today’s message more fully and learn more readily how to apply the message of the increase of faith or the pursuit of wisdom to real life, please take the initiative and reach out. If readers are interested in receiving the Zoom link to the call, please send a brief email request to this address: d.jamzon@gmail.com
These words are being freely offered to you and are intended to shine light unto our paths, as it was written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May God bless all of our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless America!
May we hold on tight to our faith when we encounter the turbulence of this toxic world. May we develop the internal discipline to continually seek God’s face, and to increase our faith which grows from our direct involvement with our Heavenly Father on a daily basis. May we repent when we forget Him or when we forget about seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness. May we strive to renew our strength of faith each day.
Renewing Faith Amidst Turbulence
By Dennis Jamison
February 3, 2023
At the beginning of 2019, which proved to be a momentous year for me, as it was less than a year after my wife’s spirit passed on into the spiritual realm, I was beginning a brand new year
without my soul mate. She had passed away in February of the previous year, and it devastated me and I had desperately sought God’s guidance of what to do with the rest of my life without my wife. As I became aware of other people making New Year’s Resolutions, it was a challenge for me to do so without her in my life. All through the previous months, I had daily sought the guidance of our Heavenly Father. In December of 2018, I received that I was to initiate what became known as the David Project, which eventually evolved into the Messages of Light.
At the time, I had little idea that Heavenly Father was setting me on a course, initiating a mission that is my ministry. I had resisted for a long time. Eventually, the Messages of Light were posted in the Citizen Sentinels Network newsletter, which had been posted in an email format after our support for Dr. Ben Carson was no longer needed as he withdrew from his race to obtain the GOP nomination for POTUS. 2019 proved to be a year of several challenges, and as I made a conscious effort to totally trust God, it was also a year of tremendous growth in my life of faith. It became a year of renewing faith, and if I hadn’t trusted God and taken the steps He helped me with, I would not have been equipped for COVID craziness, nor the other insanity afflicting America in the years that followed.
So, in January of 2019, I made some serious New Year’s Resolutions. I had to reconnect to the rebirth experience I had as a young man after just graduating from college. As noted in an article I wrote in mid-January, new year’s resolutions often “dissolve into the ether by a few months. I used to work out in a workplace gym in which many hearty souls would show up in early January soon after they made resolutions to ‘lose weight’ or ‘bulk up’ to become healthier or stronger. I had made a decision to make the physical workouts a ‘lifestyle change.’
It would seem that it is more rare that individuals initiate New Year’s Resolutions to develop, or grow, or renew their faith. But in 2019, I applied the effort I made for daily routines at the gym to return to my rebirth experience and renew my faith from that original transformation point from my lifestyle as an atheist to a lifestyle jump-started after my ‘electrifying experience’ with the Holy Spirit. I wanted to get back to that experience, relive it, and formulate a lifestyle that would sustain faith for the rest of my life, not just a one-day-a-week, passive experience.
The driving impetus was an internal motivation to develop and mature my faith in a way similar
to the discipline needed to go to the gym everyday. I realized that a lack of internal motivation to go to the gym is comparable to those who think it is too much work to pray and study everyday. Obviously, they represent two entirely different pursuits with different purposes and different goals, but motivation originates with one’s will, which gets back to making resolutions. People who make a half-hearted resolution, will make a half-hearted effort.
With regard to training or exercising, there are many who either do not make a resolution to initiate their efforts in the gym, or who drop out after a half-hearted resolution and subsequent half-hearted effort. I reasoned that “an effort to develop faith and maintain one’s faith in God, a Supreme Being, is still an act of will, and not only an act of faith. It is true in most fulfilling endeavors. And in some ways, faith is a somewhat more challenging endeavor - on a more spiritual level.” Certainly, if one is honest, it is sometimes a challenge just to believe; and on other levels, it is a serious challenge to exercise one’s faith in a hostile environment. However, challenges can be blessings in disguise, if one can be victorious in overcoming challenges.
Considering this, the Bible is filled with stories of people whose faith was seriously challenged - especially the early Christian martyrs. An active and healthy faith is not half-hearted. An active and healthy faith requires a strength of will - of resolve and corresponding action. Yet, action needs to be applied consistently over a lengthy span of time. That is practice, or repetition of effort. For example, when I decided to work out at the workplace gym, I realized that the degree of investment in time, energy, and effort would be directly proportional to the outcome. Truly, the concept of partial or infrequent good health was not a worthy goal. How much does one accept such a concept with faith? Is one comfortable to possess an anemic or weak faith?vWhat was it that Jesus said about those of little faith?
I realize that developing, reviving, or sustaining one’s strength of faith requires an “all in” spirit or attitude. Especially, such an attitude is absolutely necessary in such a time as this. So much of what is happening in this time is not in alignment with God’s Will. It is no longer possible to have a ‘part-time’ faith, like one may have a part-time job. Thus, at the start of 2019, I realized that such a pursuit of a healthy and strong faith needed to be part of a lifestyle commitment as opposed to a half-hearted effort to “try it for a while to see what would come of it.” Very much like daily focused routines at the gym, strengthening faith would require a definite commitment, an intense intent to obtain serious changes to my life of faith.
What changes would those be? For different people, it may have various meanings and different goals, but for me it meant renewing a genuine relationship with Heavenly Father. So, by this it is not a reference to going to church on a more regular basis; it is renewing a faith leading to more
interaction or communication with Heavenly Father. So, it was not “faith hoping to meet Him” in some idyllic setting, or vicarious faith – relying on other people and ‘borrowing’ their personal relationship with God. That would not be genuine. It would be like seeking to have an honest to goodness relationship with a person by having it be the hope of a direct relationship, or being a relationship with a person through another individual. Sometimes, I realize that it may be the best some people can do in the beginning of developing faith. And, that is an important step in
developing such faith, or a genuine relationship.
Yet, for me, I needed to renew a relationship with God that had developed after a very dramatic rebirth experience. I normally had not, nor do I still freely offer such a testimony of that particular experience, as it is a very intimate experience. When I used to tell people my testimony of that rebirth experience, I could sense that people were in total disbelief, or would have their doubts, or even offer a type of polite condescension: “That’s all right son, you’ll be able to come to your senses some day…” So, it is difficult to share my testimony of conversion. But, this message is not for me to keep under a bushel barrel, and our Father in Heaven continues to push me to push this message forward.
In my own life, at the time I found God, I had been an atheist from my high school years and had zero faith. But, in one sense that is a faith in and of itself. It was a belief in nothingness. It represented a faith in life which was hallow – no real meaning whatsoever. As a young man, I had not developed any faith, though my dear mother had tried to assist in such growth. But once upon a time, a serious Christian happened along my path that challenged such disbelief, but I attempted to defend my ‘faith.’
It was no doubt challenging to the Christian to be able to challenge my lack of faith, and it was certainly a challenge to the mental house of cards I had developed in college. Yet, both of us were willing to try to expand our level of communicating over the concepts of faith. We each had the belief that we were right, but we were willing to engage one another in a civil manner. It was not too much work, but it proved to be the undoing of my hard core atheism.
All the Christian asked asked of me was to humble myself, get down on my hands and knees and talk to an invisible being whom I had never really believed in and certainly never met. All I asked of the Christian, if I could prove to myself there was no God, was to agree to never return to my door. We were equally sincere and an exercise of will for each of us. It was my symbolic showdown with people of faith. Yet, the Christian had God on her side -- I had not understood the bargain I had made. God’s side won. But, in reality I won -- because on that day I was embraced by the Holy Spirit.
I determined to be true to my bargain, so I honestly had to suspend my skepticism and my cynicism. I forced myself to sincerely seek Him – earnestly. As I did, an unexpected energy swept around me, embraced me, and flooded into me. I felt totally immersed in His life-giving energy of love. I had never felt so much love in an empty room. But, it was not really empty. God sent the Holy Spirit to help the Christian bring me home again. I am eternally grateful
that it was not too much work for any of them to assist in my rebirth.
I was lost, and I didn’t even know it. God knew it, and extended His Grace to me through someone of faith to come and find me. I had been blind, but I began to see, I was dead, but Heavenly Father sent the Holy Spirit to bring me back to life. I only had the name of being alive.
So, in 2019, I forced myself to relive the rebirth and to publicly write about it. In so doing at the beginning of the year, I jump-started my daily ‘routine’ of sincere communications with Heavenly Father. It was no work at all, it was natural. Like investing in any relationship, my prayers had become much stronger each day. My intention is to continue to freely return the love I had been freely given by the origin and source of love. It continues to be a work in progress. But, it’s really not work – it is an endeavor of love.
