CSN Sunday - LightWing Messages for 9/12/2021
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all;
he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.
Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.” Psalm 34:4-22 (NIV)

The Day The Towers Fell Author Unknown
A sad day for America
as rejoicing rang from hell
awakening a mighty giant
the day the towers fell.
Our hearts were saddened
as we watched this vicious act unfold
as innocence met a fiery death
and seeds of war were sowed.
Shouts rang out from the middle east
that Allah has done his good
but no God joys in faultless deaths
though certain cowards could.
America just sort of glides along
but don’t step on her toes
for her belief in right and justice
will stomp out freedom’s foes.
Saturday was the 20th anniversary of such a dark and terrible day when terror came to visit the United States of America once again. While America lurches forward with great internal dissent and disagreement about our future, this single event was the definitive moment the nation came to enter the new millennium as a nation “united.” The people came together is such an insidious tragedy -- united in spirit with those whose lives were snuffed out in a few moments in time. “We the People” were united and were proud of those first responders and the firefighters and police officers and life-saving personnel who gave their lives for the sake of people they may not have ever known. That day, only 20 years ago, does not seem so long ago in some ways, but in other ways, it seems like another age - another time because America is so very different now. It is no longer “united” but severely divided and fragmented. Reflection indeed must be made to discern how it is that we ended up in such a place as this at such a time as this.
In today’sLightWingedition, Jason Yates, CEO of MyFaithVotes, brings out this point in his recent article: “What America needed then and now: A reflection on September 11, 2001.” Even though it was a short 20 years ago, America has been on a downward spiral with some ups, but mainly downs since that time. The greater we descend into chaos and confusion, the greater the
division seems to grow. Jason Yates makes two simple points in his piece. The first may be very obvious to people of faith, but many may be totally oblivious to this fundamental perspective: “America needs God.” The second may be obvious to many more who love the fruits of freedom, but have not made the connection to the first truth: “Freedom needs protection.”
On the anniversary the other day, a minister at an event I attended made the same point, but he elaborated that Americans need to bless God, if they expect Him to bless America. It is truth. In
order to heal our land once again, it seems to me we need to be worthy of being healed. “Just because” we are living in America, a land that our Father in Heaven helped to conceive and grow over time, does not mean we can forget Him, or His commandments, or even abuse Him in such despicable ways, regardless of whether it is by our actions or our inaction.
Doing nothing about the corruption and iniquity rampant throughout the nation will only allow evil to triumph. Is not evil encroaching into and extending its dominion into all of the cultural spheres of our society? How much dominion of evil are people capable of tolerating? Toleration of evil up to the point of laying upon our backs and serving as rugs for the tyrants to walk all over is not in line with Jesus’ commands, and it is not in line with God’s original intent as He charged Adam and Eve with taking dominion over the Earth. It was not a spiritual dominion that He was limiting them to, nor was Jesus’ words limited to a spiritual dominion only.
Is it not obvious to the people of faith that such a dominion our Father in Heaven spoke of in the Garden is not the same realm Jesus spoke of as he described the Kingdom of God? He is still working through His children to bring His substantial dominion upon this planet. What do we think “One Nation Under God” is intended to mean? Do Americans still seek to maintain the vineyard, or have we allowed criminals and thieves to take over? Indeed, we need to move beyond the imperfect and inaccurate paradigm of separation of politics and religion. It is my view that we must rather construct a new paradigm of faith and leadership. America is now suffering from an undernourishment in both realms. It is time to remember and reflect on the tragedy of 9/11/2001, for in it are the elements of good vs. evil, of freedom vs. tyranny, of true
faith vs. deception and lies, and of visionary leadership vs. confusion, indecision, and ineptitude.
In our Video Views section today, there are several videos focused on the remembrance of 9/11.One in particular we call attention to is a video of President Trump that was pre-recorded for a “Let Us Worship” event led by Rev. Sean Feucht that took place over this weekend in the nation’s capital. Another,includes a video of Dutch Sheet’s reflections of this 20th anniversary of 9/11. A Victory Channel video zeroes in on Joe Biden’s mandate to get all Americans vaccinated. The channel covers a serious backlash to this effort.
There is plenty more to view and read from around the world as well as within the United States. We pray you will continue to read and learn and take your stand to demand one’s Constitutional rights! Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. stated that there are just and unjust laws. The ones that are just are in alignment with God’s laws.
One way you can take a stand is by helping others to become informed. As we see the MainStream Media work to undermine American values, you can:

What America needed then and now:
A reflection on September 11, 2001
By Jason Yates
CEO, My Faith Votes
9/9/2021
As I sat in my office on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, a story of a plane hitting a building in New York appeared on my computer screen, but the internet connection failed quickly thereafter as it became overloaded with frantic searches about the events that were rapidly unfolding: another plane hit the south tower of the World Trade Center, another plane hit the Pentagon and another plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It was a day of great panic, despair, and uncertainty.
This year not only marks 20 years since the horrific terrorist attacks that took the lives of 2,977 Americans, but as we see the images of terror in Afghanistan, it also reminds us that the same evil that invaded the United States in 2001 still exists today.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen images of people clinging to the wing of a U.S. military aircraft leaving Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, grasping for their chance to escape from the Taliban as the aircraft lifted off the ground. We’ve seen mothers passing their babies over barbed wire fences into the hands of American military personnel, hoping for nothing more than the safety of their children.
Tens of thousands of our Afghan allies, and even American citizens, have been left behind enemy lines, marked for their deaths by the Taliban because of a grossly mishandled withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.
These heartbreaking scenes make the 20th anniversary of Sept. 11 even more painful. Today, it is vital that we reflect on and learn from the events that followed the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
I hope we will not forget these two truths:
America needs God.
In the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, we mourned with those who lost loved ones, reached out to our neighbors, extended grace and kindness towards others, we called evil what it is and we renewed our resolve to protect freedom.
But most of all, we turned our gaze upwards to Almighty God. Church attendance across the nation soared as we acknowledged our need for the Lord and fell to our knees in prayer.
Two days after the attacks, President George W. Bush called for a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance to be observed on Sept. 14. He said in part:
“Scripture says: ‘Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.’ I call on every American family and the family of America to observe a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance … We will persevere through this national tragedy and personal loss. In time, we will find healing and recovery; and, in the face of all this evil, we remain strong and united, ‘one Nation under God.’”
Now, it is far less common to see government officials encouraging us to seek the Lord. We live in a culture that is rapidly moving away from God, and Americans have taken the idea of “separation of church and state” much too far.
This is why My Faith Votes exists. Christians in America must commit to praying for our nation and its leaders, thinking about the issues biblically, and then acting by bringing their faith to the public square and to the voting booth.
Freedom needs protection.
Our servicemen and women bravely answered the call to defend our freedom when our nation needed them in the aftermath of Sept. 11. Thousands made the ultimate sacrifice as they gave their lives fighting against evil on behalf of the United States over the course of 20 years. We remember the families of military and first responders who lost loved ones and we are profoundly grateful for their sacrifices.
Recent events in Afghanistan remind us that America’s enemies are alive and well. And they are as eager as ever to see freedom fall and the great American experiment come to an end. We remember the 13 brave military members who gave their lives just a few weeks ago in an effort to rescue others in Kabul Afghanistan.
Ronald Reagan was right that freedom must be protected by each generation, which is one reason we at My Faith Votes believe voting is so important. Our votes are the best defense against terrorism and tyranny. We have the tremendous opportunity to elect strong leaders who seek God’s wisdom and honor biblical values. And the leaders we elect are not only tasked with preserving freedom at home, but their influence also impacts the freedoms of people around the globe.
I hope we never become complacent, apathetic, or entitled to the freedoms we enjoy. Instead, I hope we cherish them and remain keenly aware of what they cost and our responsibility to preserve them for the next generation.
In the battle to defend freedom, there often comes the temptation to lose hope. This is when we must remember the truths found in Scripture. As believers, we have a special responsibility to pray intensely and unceasingly for all the vulnerable in Afghanistan whose fate now rests again in the hands of their oppressors. We pray people would call upon the name of the Lord and believe in Jesus Christ for eternal life.
May we never forget the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. We pray these families will feel honored by our nation today. We hold to God’s promise in Psalm 34:18 that “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

American Minute by William J. Federer - American Minute for September 11 - The attack on the USA on 9-11- 2001 wasn't the first attack on American soil - that attack was by the British beginning in 1775. In 1777 the British army was advancing toward Philadelphia which forced the Continental Congress to flee for their lives. Even so, they noted a shortage of Bibles caused by the interruption of trade with England. It was deemed so serious an issue that they voted to import Bibles from places other than England on this day in 1777.
