The Appointing of the Twelve...
“Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons. These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house. Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
He said this because they were saying, ‘He has an impure spirit.’
Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, “Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you.”
“Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.
Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” Mark 3:13-27 (NIV)
“When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” His disciples remembered that it is written: ‘Zeal for your house will consume me.’” John 2:13-17 (NIV)
Have the strong American people been bound? Has our “house” been spoiled here in America? Last week, as I wrote the introduction to Apostle Tim Taylor’s message, I mentioned that since 2016, “the United States has gone through a number of experiences that has only shed light, time and again, on the corruption that is at the heart… of every aspect of the government as well as the various spheres of our culture and society. Are people even paying attention? Are those who call themselves Christians paying attention?
At the beginning of February, in the midst of the “Dark Winter,” I offered a message on “The Inheritance and Preservation of Freedom.” https://citizensentinelsnetwork.com/csn-sunday-messages-of-light-2-7-2021/
In the introduction to that message, I presented the parable of the vineyard owner and offered a concern over how the nation “had been transformed within the past four months. So, since then, has the nation not descended even further into the depths of dominion being exercised by an evil force? In my humble viewpoint, the corruption at the core of every aspect of the government and the various spheres of our culture and society, is from an evil source. My message today is a focus upon a “house divided, a house being plundered.” It is an expression of concern that the ones who call themselves Christians, have not only been poor stewards of the Land of the Free, but that the United States of America, may become so divided that it could not be healed.
...because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other. Benjamin Franklin (emphasis mine)
As I mentioned in last week’s introduction, “fear and ignorance have been the two main handmaidens of tyrants throughout human history. This nation is plagued by both, in this time. The apex of this current effort to manifest fear and permit the perpetuation of ignorance is to seize and maintain control over entire populations.” This is to “tie us up - to bind us. Cheating is occurring, lying is occurring, plundering is occurring in the “house” that God helped the Founders to build. The “house” is being spoiled! It is our Father’s house - the land he gave to us as He worked through the Founder’s to create a nation conceived in Liberty! Is it not our generation’s turn to pass on the torch of Liberty? This is my concern: Will we? I’ve been concerned about the cowardice of key people who were considered “leaders” in the nation who lost their courage to keep the Republic. My message today is about this. Again, it is long, but from the heart. I hope you could receive it.
Additionally, we have quite a great number of videos in our “Video Views”and articles in our “Recommended Reading” section and quite a few links to articles and videos in our “Around the Republic” section. There is loads of information to help feed your minds and hearts ! And, in the pursuit of a great number of issues, we offer again (in case you missed it) a video presentation from the Dalai Lama’s speech at the recent International Religious Freedom Summit in D.C.

As a further reminder, the “Message of Light” endeavor had been part of the “David Project” that originated as a genuine inspiration from our Heavenly Father, initiated to bring Light into the dark in this time. The project developed from 2018, and as we approach our third anniversary of existence, we have formally elevated the “David Project” to the more formal “LightWing Mission,” my personal ministry, which I had announced in previous messages.
These messages are freely offered and sent to you as part of the “LightWing Mission.” Please receive today’s messages as a gift from those who care. They are only words being offered, freely; yet, some contain a deep message of faith, or a much deeper expression of heart that readers can hopefully receive into their lives. As it has been written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May we, who are called by His name, humble ourselves, which in these days may bring us to our knees within such a toxic spiritual environment; and to pray in earnest (like our nation’s existence depends on it because it does); and to seek His face (as never before), and sincerely repent (as in ‘fall on your knees” type of repentance), and turn from our wicked ways - because if we do not, our land will not be healed, but further divided. May we determine to truly take greater responsibility to re-establish His dominion - seeking to reclaim “One Nation Under God.”

“A house divided, a house being plundered!”

February 7, 2021
For a good period of time, the British colonies on the American continent had been a great source of income, and to some a great source of wealth. Yet, after the French and Indian War,
(known as the Seven Years War in Europe), Britain began a series of efforts that caused brave and brilliant people to reconsider their citizenship in the British Empire. They saw that their very own government was treating them less as citizens, but more as a main source of tax revenue for the Mother Country. Citizens began to feel less and less like citizens of their homeland on the other side of the Atlantic, and more and more like bonded workers to a government that was unconcerned about the concerns of those of the colonists.
The colonists certainly did not have much right to a say in the decisions of their government as they did not have official representatives. From the end of the French and Indian War, the British government would no longer offer military protection to any colonists that would venture beyond the mountain ranges (Appalachians & Adirondacks). Taxation increased on a number of goods -- without representation. And, when colonists complained, there was a mixed response. But, after the Boston Tea Party in December of 1773, which was an act of desperation as well as an act of outright defiance, the British restrictions became much more harsh, and the military were no longer utilized to protect the citizens, but to spy on and control the citizens. This led to much greater anger and loathing from the colonists toward their own government -- beyond a regular grumbling and moaning. The “leaders,” who were essentially appointed by the Crown, were relatively biased or unsympathetic in their dealings with a growing population of disenfranchised citizens.
In April of 1775, the military effort to seize the ammunition and weapons of the citizens in the areas of Lexington and Concord, was the proverbial straw that broke the tyrannical camel’s back. The military governor was absolutely intent on cracking down on the “ungrateful subjects” and willing to make an example of the rebel leaders. It was the outbreak of the war for colonial independence. The citizens had been pushed too far. So, the flames of war were ignited. People decided that they had been pushed too far -- not just in Massachusetts, but all up and down the seaboard colonies. Patrick Henry’s speech expresses more than just his personal views; he just put it more eloquently and publicly.
However, after one and a half years of the “revolution,” General George Washington was mainly mastering the art of retreat as the full force of the British military invaded New York. One can think D-Day because to deal with the problem in the colonies, the British government deployed 32,000 regular soldiers and 171,000 seamen, as well as about 30,000 Hessian mercenaries, and 13,000 American Indian allies. It was the largest land invasion of a nation in British history, as King George III was absolutely determined to crush such a rebellion. Washington probably had 8,000 men under his command, at most during the early days of this war. The colonists had engaged the most powerful military might upon the planet. So, the “Continental Army” may have been short-lived, if it had not been for bold and brave men and the women supporting them. The
“art of the retreat” helped Washington keep a majority of his troops alive, but it did little for his reputation as a true leader. Until his controversial attack on Trenton on December 26, 1776.
It was indeed a dark winter of this war, but just before Washington’s attack, Thomas Paine published the first volume of a series of his pamphlets entitled “The American Crisis.” The famous “Crisis,” begins:
These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country… Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
These famous words were even more true later as the fledgling nation had not totally conquered
tyranny because of the “peculiar institution of slavery.” That institution from hell was not easily conquered either. It took a Civil War to bring an end to the government sanctioned institution of slavery in the Deep South. Most people across the nation in the 1830’s and 1840’s understood and had to relate with or deal with slavery in one way or another. The easiest way was to ignore it if possible. Yet, once again, brave and brilliant people stood up and spoke out against slavery as evil -- a terrible manifestation of man’s inhumanity toward his fellow human beings. And there were many who were harmed, economically ruined, or killed for speaking out. A young man who had been nominated as the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in Illinois. He gave this speech as a sort of acceptance speech after the Illinois Republican State Convention, Springfield, Illinois June 16, 1858. Among other things, he stated:
If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could better judge what to do, and how to do it.
We are now far into the fifth year, since a policy was initiated, with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to slavery agitation.
Under the operation of that policy, that agitation has not only, not ceased, but has constantly augmented.
In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and passed -
"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.
I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided.
It will become all one thing, or all the other.
Either the opponents of slavery, will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new-North as well as South.
Have we no tendency to the latter condition?
Have we not come full circle in the course of over two hundred years of our history? We are now, once again, a nation divided. Divided not just over a single issue, but over several issues that run deep to the very core of our national existence. Those Americans who are paying close attention to what is going on in the nation, find themselves in a similar situation to the American citizens just before the outbreak of the Civil War. Some have a “tendency to the condition.” And, some remain clueless as they choose to pretend they do not see the tension and divisions. Yet, the times are forcing the “tendency” to choose sides in a looming future battle. However, there is another situation that is apparent as well. Citizens find themselves in a similar situation to the American colonists, the British citizens, prior to the outbreak of the “Revolution.” Trust in leaders of the government, under the British colonial rule or the U.S. federal government was eradicated by the decisions of those who were supposedly caring for the citizens’ interests. However, in both scenarios, the government officials were looking after their own interests.
Over the course of our nation’s history, we have arrived back at the point at which our nation was founded, yet we are fighting amidst ourselves. We are facing ourselves as tyrants. And, in reality, we have ourselves to look to to assign culpability for we are the government. We can pretend that it is “the man” that is sticking it to the “little guy,” but we have been a free people to elect “the man,” or the woman. Granted, there are many devious people who usurp power and dominion for their own self-centered gains, the people have allowed it because we were not true stewards of the vineyard. We allowed others to come in and bind us and plunder from us, and spoil our home - “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” We, like the people of Israel so long ago, have allowed evil, lying, wealth mongering, and power hungry people to spoil our Father’s land.
As the Lord looks across this nation, do we suppose he sees the faith he was hoping to see when he intends to return; do we suppose he sees those who he would consider his friends? As he looks upon this nation of corruption, would he accept that we have allowed our Father’s land to have become despoiled? Would he find his mother and brothers and sisters doing God’s will? Would God’s Will not include expelling those who do not? Who are truly the ones who are non-essential in this society? Americans twice before in a major way expelled evil and tyranny from our Father’s land. In this time, we need to unite and bond together rather than be bound together. True Christians are not the ones who simply talk about God’s Will; they do God’s Will. It is time to clean house! It is time to pull the weeds that steal liberty and life-giving energy! May His Kingdom come, may His Will be done - on Earth s well as in Heaven!
