St. Stephen and the Jewish leaders
“Now when forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush. When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he drew near to look, there came the voice of the Lord: ‘I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.’ And Moses trembled and did not dare to look. Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.’
“This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years. This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers.’ This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us. Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt, saying to Aaron, ‘Make for us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who led us out from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ And they made a calf in those days, and offered a sacrifice to the idol and were rejoicing in the works of their hands. But God turned away and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets:
“‘Did you bring to me slain beasts and sacrifices, during the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? You took up the tent of Moloch and the star of your god Rephan, the images that you made to worship; and I will send you into exile beyond Babylon.’
“Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen. Our fathers in turn brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our fathers. So it was until the days of David, who found favor in the sight of God and asked to find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob. But it was Solomon who built a house for him. Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, as the prophet says,
“‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? Did not my hand make all these things?’
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered, you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it.”
The Stoning of Stephen
Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Acts 7:30-56
FOUNDER’S MESSAGE:
In the last LightWing newsletter, some readers may have been shocked with the perspective I offered of Donald Trump in the role of Moses in our nation’s history. CSN - Sunday LightWing Messages - Trump as a Moses Figure? Others who commented on the message could see some of the parallels. It would be important to note that my premise is not to proclaim Donald Trump as a religious leader. Yet, was Moses a religious leader before he went back to Egypt to challenge the tyrant? No, he was simply a man challenging the tyranny over the Hebrew people. He did so as a righteous man of God. Religion came later as a way to get people organized and motivated to obey the Ten Commandments, or the spiritual laws that Heavenly Father shared with the children of Israel. That message last week actually came upon the foundation of several previous messages of light in our Sunday newsletters from last year, as I had mentioned last week. Links to those newsletters were provided for any who missed my progress of perception.
The featured Bible passage today is a witness in the Book of Acts sharing the mistreatment, injustice, and extreme cruelty of the Hebrew people themselves toward the Christ follower, Stephen. Especially in the passage it notes there was willing participation of one of their leaders, a man named Saul. The same Saul who dramatically transformed to a follower of Christ. This story in Acts only highlights what was done to God’s son by the same kind of Jewish leaders. And though this be a long period that Stephen recounts in his own defense, over that time the Jewish leaders had demonstrated that they had inherited much from the Egyptians, or the secular world and little from God. If God could transform Saul, He can transform any who are apt to consult the figure within the mirror of their souls.
In this week’s message, which I deem “part II,” the case for the parallels in history and the role of Trump as a Moses figure are developed even more. Nevertheless, some readers may not have the same sense that I perceive of Donald Trump in the role of Moses. I noticed especially that some Baptist writers reacted to Franklin Graham’s comparison of Trump with Moses. I was not aware of Franklin Graham’s prayer on Inauguration Day in which that came out. But, it never ceases to amaze me that people who claim to be ‘religious’ have trouble with other religious leaders because of their own egos getting in between them and the “love of one’s neighbor.” I think Jesus referred to the phenomenon of the speck in the eye of one brother vs. the log in the eye of the other.
Divisiveness is intended to separate good from evil, not to spread false witness to marginalize a good person. The articles I read from many were also from secular writers who sneeringly and in their polished “woke” vocabulary, would mockingly deride Franklin Graham, or anyone who is viewing Trump as operating with some divine protection at his back. That never ceases to amaze me either, although it is understandable. Here and there and all around us, there are examples of the secular trying to define what people of faith are trying to say, or what they can believe in, or what they should not believe in, as if they were the ones to guide the rest of us in the true interpretation of, or pursuit of our faith. Don’t let the “Egypt around us” poison our ways.
I would truly hope that Americans would socially distance themselves and their families from secular-humanist journalists who are attempting to tell us what faith is, or what we should or should not believe. I think part of their job descriptions is a requirement to spread divisiveness.
If you need to read such morons for an assignment or for employment, wear a mask of common sense, so the toxic beliefs that they spew will not take root in your frontal lobe. It would seem to me that those who have seen Trump as a Moses figure are being inspired by their conscience, which should be linked to divine messaging rather than that which we obtain from mainstream media or social media morons. My message today, admittedly is my perception, but it is based upon much prayer and thought concerning the times in which we live. Yet, it is also always good for readers to take my words with a grain of salt and take a portion of precious time to consult with the Lord about His Providence. Then, let’s move onward and upward together in 2025!
These words are being freely offered to you – intended to shine light unto our paths, as written: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 - KJV
May God bless our readers and all of their loved ones. May God bless All His Children!
May we humble ourselves, seek God’s face, honestly repent, and rid ourselves of all the offenses we have committed against Him and against our brothers and sisters. May we sincerely receive and put into practice the Divine Guidance He is offering right now. May we focus more upon the way of truth, righteousness, and goodness in such times. May we continue to seek His Kingdom in this “great and terrible day of the Lord.”
Trump Serving in the Role of a Moses for His People! (Part II)
By Dennis Jamison – 2/15/25
There are several reasons I have offered the perspective of Donald J. Trump as one who serves in the role of Moses for the people of the United States. However, there are likely many reasons to not see these parallels. Certainly, time, place and specific circumstances are totally different. Yet, in the course of human history there are parallels in which transformative events seem to be repeated in some time or place, yet different to the original event. The lifestyles and cultural differences may be different as well, but important or significant events, which are like inflexion points in history, may repeat in ways that parallel one another.
In United States’ history, it may be easier to recognize such a parallel. For instance Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and his Vice President Andrew Johnson, lawfully took over duties as the POTUS. John F. Kennedy was assassinated less than 100 years from Lincoln’s murder. At that time, Vice President Lyndon Johnson took over as POTUS. Lincoln was from the North, Andrew Johnson was from the South. Kennedy was from the North and Lyndon Johnson was from the South. Andrew Johnson was linked to fellow Confederates who were attempting to destroy the Union. Lyndon Johnson was linked to the more entrenched Democrat Party that had evolved from those days of the confederacy.
Certainly, parallels do not always fit exactly, but there are these parallels that appear in history, and there are reasons for this. Nevertheless, the direction J.F.K. was attempting to guide his Party, was lost for several reasons. The direction Lyndon Johnson was leading the Party was different than Kennedy’s direction. It was an inflexion point in our history. Obviously, the Civil War was a major turning point for America – the nation as it was founded was on its deathbed and President Lincoln sacrificed his life for the Union. The problem was that Andrew Johnson was a southern Democrat, and he was impeached by Congress in order to get him out of the position of POTUS. These turning points in our history have occurred from our birth as the “Land of the Free.” It was a dream and a determination to be such a land, not the fulfillment of such a dream. We are still working it out, but much of that development has been aligned with God’s Providence. It is still so.
Another parallel involves Donald J. Trump. He was actually the second president in our history to lose his re-election bid, but to win against his opponent in his re-election bid. The presidency of Grover Cleveland, a Democrat from New York, was similar in that he lost his re-election bid to his opponent, but won the election after his opponent, Benjamin Harrison, became so unpopular during his presidency that when he ran for re-election, he easily beat Harrison. Trump did not face Joe Biden once again in the presidential race because Biden “withdrew” his name from the race. But Trump, like Cleveland, won his second term to return to the White House.
Additionally, in our nation’s history, there is another comparison between an American legend and Moses. Harriet Tubman, a former slave turned emancipator of Black people is known as the “Moses of her people.” Tubman’s dedicated and life-risking efforts earned her the moniker. In America’s history, Tubman stands out as a black woman of incredible determination. She was a slave and successfully escaped the dominion of her slave owners. But, instead of remaining in hiding or running to Canada, she decided to help her family, her friends and many of the others trapped behind the wall of oppression. Her story is truly intriguing. The comparison of Tubman to Moses is not that difficult to digest; yet many have a lot of resistance to the notion of Trump in the role of a Moses for the American people.
The resistance to the notion of Trump in the role of a Moses seems to have roots in either some political animosity or religious bigotry. Obviously, slave owners would not have been enamored with Harriet Tubman. In the same manner, political rivals, who have tendencies toward tyranny would not be inclined to view Trump in any favorable light. And those religious leaders who are very narrow in their perception of reality, or who are caught up with the “exactitudes of scripture” would not be easily persuaded of Trump as a Moses for America. And, both examples could be categorized in a way that hearkens back to the “hardness of heart” of the Pharaoh who was Moses’ nemesis. I sincerely believe that God used Moses, a simple shepherd, to free those Hebrew people because He had big plans for the “chosen” people. It did not matter whether people were resistant to the man God chose to do His work of freeing the slave.
In the same manner, it does not currently matter whether or not people in this country see the parallels between Trump and Moses. If God chose to do His work of freeing American people from contemporary ‘slavery,’ that providence will play out one way or another. Enough people do trust Trump (proven by the election results) that a movement away from real political oppression and suppression (on multiple fronts) has been operating even from Trump’s first term. People of conscience can sense that the opposition to Trump is being fueled by lies at the least and by a lot of big, dark money in the most outlandish way. Those who oppose Trump either have a lot to lose, or have already lost a lot because of his endeavors. He has been sticking his neck out for the well-being of the American citizens since he came down the golden escalator of Trump Tower in 2015.
The 2024 election is now history, but Trump faced so much opposition during that campaign that it is literally a miracle that he came out alive. Trump faced so much opposition during his initial term in office that it is a miracle that he got anything accomplished at all. Trump’s crime was to challenge the existing tyrants in America and the well-organized and growing oppression of the citizens of this nation. Opponents of Trump made a mistake in not taking him seriously as he was entering the 2016 presidential race. Then, they regretted it after they saw he was taking it seriously, and after the 2016 election outcome, the opposition intensified, and they relentlessly pursued the methods of political assassination and lawfare aimed at putting him behind bars.
In 2016, a movement of opposition against Trump eventually became so oppressive and violent by the “brown shirts” of the Left that it may have awakened many impartial observers, and those citizens gravitated in a direction of empathy toward Trump. Long before people physically shot at him in 2024 , the leaders of the opposition Party and their sycophants stoked hatred against him. That could have been what emboldened ‘crazies’ to want to kill this righteous man. Long before the opposition leaders organized against him, the media had started their propaganda campaign against him. Trump became a lightning rod that attracted much of the evil in America. This attempt to ‘get Trump’ can be considered parallel to the Pharaoh’s Army vengefully bearing down on the Hebrews before the Red Sea to re-capture them. One does not need to wonder too long what Pharaoh would have done to Moses if his army had got him. His situation facing the Red Sea was so much worse by comparison to the criminal charges he would have faced if he had just been captured after killing the Egyptian. Moses’ ‘crime’ was to stand up to the existing tyrant and demand they could be released to go into the desert to worship their God for three days. He was only bargaining for a three day vacation from the slavery they had suffered for over four hundred years. Pharaoh did not buy the deception, but when his own son died, he relented and sent the Hebrews away. He later regretted it.
What makes Moses’ confrontations with Pharaoh so much more dramatic is that in such days of absolute tyranny, he was risking his very life simply by showing up in Pharaoh’s court. What is truly appalling about Trump’s campaign for POTUS is that the opposition weaponized our own government against him. It is yet another parallel worth contemplating. Additionally, DJT’s own confrontations with the Deep State operatives, the RINO operatives in his first Administration (that undermined his efforts), the mainstream media moguls, the Hollywood elitists, the Never Trumpers, as well as all the other morally-deprived morons in the public domain, revealed how seriously they wanted Trump erased. It is important to note that both governments raised armies against these righteous men to destroy them. Yet, in God’s Providence, many miracles enable the forward thrust of God’s Will.
In the hot summer of 2024, hot on the campaign trail, Americans witnessed the hand of God in sparing Trump’s life. It was clear that he had a rendezvous with destiny and not a deadly bullet.
That was a miracle to those who believe in miracles. And, it changed how regular people would perceive Donald Trump from that point forward. I firmly believe that this deadly event changed how Donald Trump viewed God and how he looked at himself. It did little to change the minds of those people who do not see the miraculous, or who do not believe in God. To those kinds of people, it was just something that happened one summer day in 2024. But there was a political seismic shift from that point in the campaign. The opposition Party seemed to become confused and disoriented. Although the normal spin doctors in the media made optics appear that there was “nothing to see here” – and to push some hasty narrative with “move along and just accept what we tell you just happened…” They missed God’s hand in Pennsylvania in the summer of 2024. In my humble opinion, He was sparing a man’s life to help us retain the Republic because our Heavenly Father is not finished with the Republic yet.
As mentioned in Part I of this message:
Heavenly Father still seeks to manifest and promote goodness through His children to triumph over evil. He still has need of His children to substantiate His Will on Earth as Jesus taught in “The Lord’s Prayer. And, throughout human history, God has used unlikely people to perform unlikely tasks to advance His Providence. His absolute Will is to advance His Providence. It is with this firm perspective that in our time, Donald Trump has shown up as a leader serving Providence as a significant catalyst for positive change for the American people and as one to help retain the Republic. Certainly, God could definitely use a man like that. And he still does.
One major observation regarding Moses’ mission is that he did not do everything right; he did some things very wrong – he was a man on a mission – but he was not divine. He broke the first set of stone tablets because he allowed his emotions to overcome him. He struck the rock to get water twice due to his own weakness of faith. He allowed the Hebrew people to constantly talk ill of God who had performed miracles to help them obtain their freedom. For such problems, he was not permitted to go into the “Promised Land.” He was a good and faithful servant, yet he was not divine. It is likely that many people have already realized Trump is not divine. He is not.
Those expecting him to morph into a holy man of God, may have a long wait. He is a man who is working to help preserve the Republic. Moses never saw his “Land of Milk and Honey due to his own shortcomings, but his age also may have had a lot to do with that.
Trump has ran his campaigns upon the commitment to make America great again. In his speech on Inauguration Day, he spoke of entering a “Golden Age.” He is definitely on a mission to drive, pull, or push America to a better place. His courage and his perseverance against all odds will go down in history. His team of cabinet picks are coming into alignment – I believe it should be called the “Justice League of America” because I have hope that these real citizen heroes of the Republic will mete out justice across our land as it has not been done for quite awhile. And, it is going to take such a strong team to reclaim our Republic. Yet, because they are real people, just like all of us, it will also take the cooperation and support of the American people to do our part to help make America great again, and to make America healthy again, and to make America financially stable again. A great amount of our precious freedoms have been undermined in recent years by an enemy within. A great number of our God-given rights have been attacked by those within our own government. This is what I believe Trump will need help with.
Americans all across the nation need to unite to support President Trump at this critical time. All patriotic citizens need to stand in support of the Republic. Citizens of all races, of all ethnicities, from all levels of the social stratum need to come together as Americans and jettison “identity politics” from the enemies of American Liberty. We are moving from the dominion of the enemy into the restoration of the Republic. It is truly an Exodus and we need to let God lead us on this journey. It is really a re-claiming of our “Promised Land.”
